If there's one player that embodies OM, it's orvis and I can't stand him.

(I do wish we had a guy with power like his at 1b though)

UM has freshmen like Bortles that can hit. Waiting 3 years for production ain't gonna cut it.

I'll be honest, I'm jealous of the OM offense and a lot of other offenses. I hope next year we hit the ball a WHOLE lot better.

msstate7

Cajuns better get something done here

starkvegasdawg

So that's what an offense looks like. Having watched our team all season I hadn't seen one.

msstate7

Think the angels are watching? They drafted both starting pitchers tonight

starkvegasdawg
06-07-2014, 07:46 PM
That's how you play centerfield.

That dude won the Ferris Award. Let that sink in as you watch replays of that pop fly bouncing off his dome.

I hate OM too, but the guy also led the sec in hits

Is the award for the best hitter? Or best player?

I didn't see him strike anybody out like Lindgren.

I'm not saying he should've won, but he is a good player. I think Ellis should've won IMO.

I didn't say he's a bad player.....just shouldn't have won the Ferris

Ull pitcher settling in maybe

Hope so. As weak as this remaining field is...I fear OM making it to Omaha.

I'm sick of hearing about the "mighty sec" from these announcers. Most years that's an accurate description, but not this year. Our conference was very overrated

If it was going to be a pitcher it should have been Lingo. And it should have been.

Announcers love talking bunt.

Amazing, 3-2 now and Ellis still with a no-hitter going.

maroonmania

Ellis and OM now behind 5-3 but Ellis still with a one hitter.

Well the no hitter is gone.

Ellis only 2.1 innings. I don't think he's had any stint this short all year.

This could get ugly. Doesn't this Massie dude look just like a typical Ole Miss dude?

How was that a strike 3? Good grief. It's hard to watch college umps considering I watch the braves every night

I didn't see what the hell the ump was talking about, but whatever. ULL scored, doesn't matter.

Terrible officiating both ways. Seems like with only 8 sites this week the NCAA could come up with competent umps

OM not quitting

maroonmania
06-07-2014, 08:37 PM
Nor should they because they desperately need this game. Odds are very low that they lose this game and then beat ULL in both games 2 and 3.

9-4. OM better answer next inning

maroonmania

At this point I can easily see there being NO SEC teams in Omaha. At this point I think Vandy is the only hope.

This will make no sense, but Orvis looks like he should be playing for Arkansas. Why? I don't know, I guess I just think he looks like one of the Hoggettes and when I think hog I think pig sooie

What color do you call that on the hair of the new bear pitcher?

Haven't heard "Hotty Toddy" in a while.

I missed the pitch count on Ellis so forgive me.

Can Ellis pitch some Monday if the occasion were to arise?

Although that's now a 3rd round arm so Chris, his dad, the Angels and his "not yet hired agent" might have a say.

Ellis threw around 75 pitches tonight. I guess he COULD pitch some Monday, but he would be limited. They will throw Trent tomorrow and Sam Smith Monday (if there is a Monday game). Bianco also threw Pomeranz on 3 days rest vs Virginia in game 3 in Oxford. He pitched well, but when they went to the pen, and Button made the E4, it all unravelled quickly.

Didn't he also pitch Lance Lynne on 2 days rest in a regional championship against WKU or someone similar?

Don't remember if he did or not. Wouldn't shock me.

Ask Will Kline if he will put you out there multiple times a year a day after throwing 100+ pitches.

Bianco has been guilty of having pitchers run their pitch counts up just about every single year it seems like. I think it has hurt their pitchers in pro baseball because really the only one that has had any success at all is Lance Lynn. And everyone in St. Louis wants his ass gone. Pomeranz might have a career in the bullpen too.

But that has been about it.

They still got a documentary out of it though.

I've got to wonder if Bianco's reputation is what caused Ellis and Trent to drop in the draft.
