Cole Barlow (pitcher from Jones CC, and high school at Madison Central) committed. Jones was #1 in the nation this year in juco.

He originally went to Madison Central before going to Jones. He's a submarine guy. Very nice pick up from a good JUCO program.

Reliever. Good stats. Nice pick up

I'd be more excited about a stud starter though. I would love to have 3 legit weekend starters

Love me a sub 2 era submariner with good ks. We lose Lindgren and Holder most likely so we need help back there. I'll also take a stud SP or 3.

Talked to a scout last week and he said holder will probably come back or be advised to come back. Lindgren is big time gone.

Holder desperately needs a 3rd pitch. His fastball is very average to below average for an MLB relief prospect at 91-92 MPH. His hook is insane, but as we've seen, he can be hit and hit hard when guys sit on one of his pitches. Without a 3rd pitch, good hitting MLB prospects will rip him a new one, barring a miraculous increase in his fastball velocity. If he could get it up to 95-96, he could get away with only having 2 pitches. I'd advise him to work on something like a change up or maybe a slider if he wants to play past A ball.

He's been working on a cutter for a long time now... Throws it occasionally in games.

That would be a very good pitch for him. He should use it more.
