Figured we could make a thread dedicated to updates on all the SEC teams today.

Bama started early against Kennesaw State today and are tied 0-0 going to the bottom of the 4th. Bama threw Turnbull today.

This is why I love college sports. The catcher for Kennesaw State could be the best catcher in the country. Think of all the teams that kid could be playing for that probably didn't scout him or just didn't like him, but he's playing for a college baseball program that's never been to a regional as a D1 program and is going to be a 1st round draft pick.

It's starting to look like our league has a combination of poor hitting and good pitching. I don't think our arms are as good as we all think....and I think our bats are all a little worse than we think. And I'm not speaking for MSU...we know our bats suck, but I'm talking about the league as a whole

I don't doubt it. 18-12 SEC teams shouldn't lose as regularly as we did this year to poor OOC competition.

Kennesaw St. holds on to beat Bama 1-0. They have now won 24 of their last 25. Spencer Turnbull has pitched 31+ innings straight without a run being scored by his offense. That's really brutal.

KSU stands a great chance of building a very competitive D1 program. They have won NC's at every level going back to their days as an NAIA program. They recruit the hell out of Metro ATL and have a lot of talent on full rides because of HOPE schollys. I played HS ball against most of their '94 NAIA NC team - and many were D1 talent that got overlooked because there is so much talent in that area.

They have historically played the first game in regionals that they host. I guess for rest purposes.
