The service in my area sucks. I can't have satellite because of the trees so I need some advice on Uverse.

Any comments would be helpful..

It rocks, but is expensive. Love it way more than Comcast, Directv, or Dish, and I've had em all.

I've got Uverse and love it. Best way to go is to bundle. We have home phone, internet and the U350 package that includes Showtime, Starz and Encore for $140 after taxes. It's locked in for 2 years. After two years, they said call and threaten to leave just like you've done with Dish or DirecTV and they will lock you in again. I've never had an outage because the cable is ran through a phone line into the house.

How is the internet with uverse? I have heard the service is not great, but im looking to switch to something with the SEC network.

If you guys don't think Comcast will not have
SEC network by the time it hits the air, you
have lost your mind.....no way that won't happen
This is just a big time negotiation.
They simply have to have each other

Mine is great. I don't know much about internet speeds, but I have what they say is their best, called "max 12"? It works great. I haven't had the first bit of trouble, and streaming through Apple TV from HailState and ESPN3 is amazing...perfect HD and never any buffering or loss is signal strength. I may just be in a good spot though...like I said, I'm not very knowledgeable about all that stuff

I pay $160-ish for the U450 package which has it all, and my internet with the Max-12 speed. If that helps

I seen it dawg

I checked into getting Uverse a couple of years back, but it was not offered in Starkville at that time. I looked it up and the 12 is for 12mbps download speed. They offer 18mbps download in some markets (maybe more). Metrocast now has 50 mbps download in Starkville which serves our family well because we have 4-5 devices accessing bandwidth almost constantly. From what I have read in the past the good thing with Uverse is that it runs on DSL technology which means your line is dedicated to only your house. Whereas cable internet connections are shared with people around you with the same service, which will slow your speeds down when a high percentage of them access at once.

We have Metrocast here and their internet sucks. I had at least 3 outages a day with them. I take classes online and can't have any downtime in the middle of the day. I've never had a problem with my Uverse internet. Downloads are fast and connections for streaming are very stable.

I've got something similar to yours but with HBO. Got that worked out last August. HAd it for a year or so before that. You're right, just tell them it's too much after a while and they'll come up with something. I've enjoyed UVERSE and recommend to anyone. Weather has never affected it either.

I've had Dish, Direct, and now UVerse. The best thing about Uverse is when the wind blows or the rains come or especially when the tornados came in April, I had the local stations telling me where everything was with the radar. If you have satellite, no way in Hell that happens. I have my wife and kids cell phones, max12 internet, and the 350 package and I'm at a little over 140 a month for the Uverse. It is better in every way than Dish or Direct except the music stations suck. No XM or Sirius.
