Great win. Never would have thought we would have won an SEC game where the only run came off a Britton homer. On the downside OM has taken the lead now on TA&M.

HUGE win for us. We beat Turnbull and have won the series.

Auburn must have totally quit. Now been outscored 21-1 in their home stadium by LSU.

I had to listen to the last few outs to make sure I wasn't responsible for us losing the game. The sad thing is if we did lose, I really would have felt responsible...my baseball superstition will never die I guess.
But now I can say good win! So good win!
After you said that, there were a ton of explicatives that ran through my head that I didn't type out.

Also, who woulda thunk Britton would be our only offense the entire game and we won the game? He's really come through at the plate, which feels like nothing but a bonus to me!

4 shutouts in our last 8 SEC games
Only 7 earned runs in the last 8 games!
Thats an ERA of 0.86 since the Auburn series began!

21st straight game for Heck without an error. He will still be our SS next year, mark it down.

Jim with the Broadcasters jinx AGAIN. Didn't learn from Pirtle. Look for Heck to make an "errah" tomorrow

Point remains that Heck is steady as a rock at the SS position. But yes, he will eventually make an error at some point.

I think we see him shifted to second if Holland "is who we think he is". While Heck has certainly been solid for us at short, his arm is more suited to second...

It's a good situation for us because we KNOW that Heck can handle SS. 2B are easier to find. And if Holland isn't who we think he is, we have Dale Burdick who will be a candidate for a middle infield spot as well.

I don't think I can set my expectations for incoming freshmen as serious competitors for positions for us going forward...even when they probably should be. Obviously, Collins is an exception -- but I think it's become clear that we had nothing at that position.
I'm looking forward to a lineup with more pop and less "Cohening". He proved last year that he can let go of the reigns a little bit when he has guys that prove they can get it done individually -- and I'll be pretty upset if we don't have a far more well-rounded bunch at the plate next year.

Even Collins shouldn't be out there in some regards- he can't handle Lindgren. And that has hurt us BAD this year.

That's kinda my point. He's out there because we have nothing else. Not because he's 100% ready...
I absolutely love the passion that State fans have for this team (and past teams and future teams), but for the life of me cannot understand why many posters do everything they can to find something negative to say about the players or coaches or whoever. They get better each week. They are finding themselves and will be a tough out in the SEC tournament and the NCAA tournament. Just enjoy it ...

Well, it is a sports message board and that's just the kinds of things that get cussed and discussed. I admit there should be limits of civility that should be adhered to but this is big time collegiate sports we are talking about. And coaches especially are fair game because none of them are doing this for peanuts. Little different for players, I admit. Good point about the passion of our fans, though. If no one cared this board would be dead. I'm like you, I love the passion for baseball we have here. Except for maybe LSU, I would bet there is no other college sports message board that gets the kind of traffic this one gets during baseball season. That's saying something there.

Best part of the game was the announcer continually saying how dumb sabermatics are and how it is a useless stat because of what it doesn't take into account.

I think you and the announcer might be a little off as to what "sabermetrics" is.
