I still blame our unsettled lineup. Our lineup looks drastically different every single game. How are our hitters supposed to have a good mental approach at the plate when they hit lead off one game, in the 5 hole the next game, then in the 8th hole the next game? Or hit in the 8 hole game 1, sit game 2, then come into game 3 as a PH? It's ridiculous.

How many teams have we played this year that have very similar lineups during the weekend? Now obviously our pitching helps limiting other teams to runs, but I really believe we limit ourselves by not giving guys a chance to be comfortable at the plate. And if you think it's easy to adjust to hitting in 3 different positions in a lineup in 3 different games, you've never played baseball. At the college level, these kids need as much continuity as possible and right now we have none.

If we can get the first game, I think Ross Mitchell can beat anyone we would play in the winner's bracket game, then we'd have two chances.

Once again Ross Mitchell delivered a pitching performance we had to have. And Holder was extra nasty tonight. But we have 3 freaking runs vs a mediocre UT pitching staff. We better somehow score some runs tomorrow because we won't hold them to 2 hits tomorrow.

From my vantage point...Holder looked the best I've seen him this year. That was the consensus of everyone sitting around me.

I agree 100% with Will right here. If you can win a game where Cohen made decisions that should have absolutely lost him said game, you have the makings of a team capable of making a run if Cohen can just quit over managing. He over managed the shit out of this game and we still won. I think this is the first time I have ever watched a game go to extra innings with a walk off of 1-0.

I will say this, incredible performances by Ross Mitchell and Jonathan Holder. To me, they should be co-players of the week this week. Tennessee had a total of five base runners the whole night. We stranded five base runners in two innings. That should tell you something.

That's interesting because I was at the game and one of the things I noticed was that he was bringing his leg up a little higher at his balance point on the rubber.

And I will vouche that he was as nasty as I have ever seen him. Just completely filthy. It was fun to watch.

I don't look at the radar gun a whole lot, but I saw a couple of 90's up there.

One other thing I noticed was that he was using his fastball as much as his curve. It's almost like he relies on his curve and then pitches off of that. And then he uses his fastball if the umpire isn't giving him the call on the curve. Tonight he could use both.

The only major thing I disagreed with was putting Vickerson in instead of Rea. The pitcher for Tennessee was pretty good himself tonight.

Our problem is we don't have any power- and we only have three guys that are hitting the ball- Pirtle, Heck, and Collins. So, all of our hits are bunched together- and then because they are singles hitters they only get one base at a time and we have to rely on Vickerson and Britton to drive them in.

Also- we probably lead the baseball world in hard hit line drives right at people.

As long as I can remenber I can't say I've seen many more people fooled. He had at least two or three guys swing at his off speed with two outs before the ball even got to the "dirt". He was just plain unhittable. And a closer that can come in that early and do that is huge. As far as hitting, how many times can we leave them chucked this weekend? Goodness
