I think we have a chance to make up some ground if we keep winning. Win or lose, I think Clemson, Bryant, and Stanford will have trouble holding their ground and we should be able to pass them. OD, Liberty, and Mercer should lose a bit of ground over the weekend, but we'll have to see what shakes out.

Tennessee and Alabama are both regional teams, I would think if we win those series our RPI should keep going up. Not sure how that works.

I'm not trying to be negative here, but our chances are pretty low. I'm not sure how high our RPI would rise even if we swept the next two series. The only way we host is if we some how crack the Top 20 in RPI. I just see that as doubtful.

No. We would need one of the other teams in that matching regional to win it, and then hope the committee picks us in the super bid.

I think we're going to be a solid 2 if we do what we are projected to do. I think we could be a 3 if we go cold.

There is a snowballs chance that we host- but it's also about the same chance of having a white Christmas in Mississippi.

Honestly, I'm not sure how much that matters. I think if both of us were deserving we would both host. They know both of us would sell it out.

agree Mississippi can't have two, but that's a shame. It's two of the better college baseball venues in America. That should count more than geographical dispersion... assuming both teams are good enough to have earned a host though.

SC, State, OM, LSU, and a few more should be automatic host regardless of records.***

Mississippi can absolutely have two hosts. You're telling me if we were both top 5 in RPI leading the SEC, one would get a 2 seed? Of course not, it has nothing to do with that.

2011 is at least one time.

I think it's slim. If we did win out (including SECT) it would mean 14 straight wins over SEC teams, ELEVEN away from our homefield. We would likely be ranked in top 15 if not top 10 and have a "close enough" RPI. We will host. If we win the tourney and lose no more than 1 out of all remaining regular season and tourney games, we MIGHT. If we lose 2 anywhere, we have absolutely no shot.

Another factor. If we swept Bama and Tennessee we would likely finish 2nd in SEC and might anyway if we go 5-1. As long we made a deep SEC tourney run, it would be hard to pass over 2nd place in best conference that has huge attendance history and best atmosphere in the sport.

It also not out of the question that we could be reg season champs. If we don't look like sheiss in the tourney, again, how you pass us over?
