It's located on the South side of the Junction. Pretty cool.

Can't get the photo to work...

Hopefully Scott put it there so they no where to build the new ballpark after they tear down Dorman Hall.

SEC West champs in '62? Honest question. Did they have divisions back then?

I know there was a time they at least scheduled that way. It was for travel most likely. That's why we used to play Ole Miss, LSU, and I believe Bama, a home series AND and away series. I don't recall different standings in the 70s and 80s but I was a kid and I don't know about the 60s. I never heard my dad or anyone refer to "the west." I think by then at least it was a scheduling thing. It was weird. That was 18 of the games right there and then you worked in some of the others. And I think the other 6, Auburn included, were in "the East" and they somehow played most of their games against each other. This is all coming from childhood memories so if anybody knows more detail I'd be interested to hear.

I like the dorman coming down part but dnf needs to stay on the athletics side of campus to preserve campus functionality.

Plus, the lounge can't be duplicated IMO

I think we all agree that Dorman should be the next project. It's the turd sitting right next to our stadium that everyone on tv sees and thinks (huh, I guess State has a high school built in the 70's right next to their stadium). I don't think you could even pretty that thing up. Just destroy it.

SEC Baseball had divisions way before the rest of the sports. It was for travel purposes.

Alabama, Auburn, MSU, Ole Miss and LSU were the original SEC West. You'd play a home and away series with the other four every year.

This might be true but this is the first time I've ever heard of it and the ONLY reference I can find to it anywhere was on Boyds World
http://www.boydsworld.com/data/standings/standings1962.html

it is not in any msu media guide or record books currently.

Interesting. I thought I remembered correctly that Auburn was in "the east" and the divisions were unbalanced. Strictly made sense for travel not play balance I guess.

I thought divisions didn't happen until the early nineties.

Yes there were divisions up until around 1990 I think. We won the SEC West in 1983 and I have no idea why we don't recognize it like you know- when Stansbury was our basketball coach.
