Austin Sexton IMO is the freshman pitcher showing the most promise.

Our lack of pitching depth is really hurting us.

Usually we have 1-2 freshmen step up by this time of the season, but not this year- combine that with four guys hurt and a bad Woodruff... Everything has just fallen apart on the mound this season. It's a Murphy's Law worst-case scenario.

If that happened, I'd say it's a stroke of genius. But to State fans like you- it's "dumb".

We have the only fans in America that if we do something unconventional it's either stupid because It didn't work or if it did work it's dumb because it "could have" not worked.

You don't even really know the situation. Did the pitcher look at the runners? If not- you take off. It doesn't matter how many outs or if the batter is left handed- they're giving you bases. And you take them. And that's probably why it worked for us.

There's more to the game than just numbers. Remember that. You have to constantly be looking to take advantage of any weakness that your opponent shows.
