Are you wanting to put catfish in a pond? Or are you looking to save some money buying filets? For the latter I'd probably go straight to the processing plant. Should be well worth it to pay to avoid having to clean and filet them yourself.

I just want to buy some fillets or other cuts, whatever they have. I've been looking at U.S. Catfish, Delta Pride and Simmons. Simmons sells boxes directly from their site.

Bottom line, I can't fish as much as I want but I want some to eat. The crap in the grocery store is expensive and all farmed overseas. I'd rather buy from MS farmers, so catfish is the way to go.

I'm glad you researched Tilopia and decided to stick with catfish

I would just buy from wherever is convenient. Unfortunately, catfish farmers' costs have gone up considerably while competition from over seas has gotten more stiff, so I'm not sure how much it will save you to buy direct. Should still save you, but it will probably still seem expensive. If it makes you feel better, just remember that catfish is expensive in part so that you can burn that 90/10 ethanol mix that tears up your boat, lawn mower, and other small engines.

Not really looking to save money, just want to support a MS farmer if possible. And I want to buy some in bulk. It's still much cheaper than gulf fish, whether you catch them yourself or pay for them at a market.
