I teach in a rural area of Alabama that is higher poverty. I really want to see if there are any options or ways to create a scholarship through MSU for a different senior from my school every year that would go toward tuition for them once they've decided to go to MSU. Does anyone know how to do that or who to contact? It's not going to be much, I was thinking in the neighborhood of $500 to $1,000 for a one time scholarship, but I think it would be pretty cool to get that started, especially since my school really doesn't have anything remotely close to that with any other school. Anyone have any suggestions, personal experience, or ideas as to how I would go about this? I'm not sure whether or not that dollar amount would be enough to create a scholarship through MSU, but I would at least like to see if I could. Thanks in advance.

Your best bet would be to start a scholarship through your alumni chapter.

My fraternity started a scholarship through MSU while I was there and it required a big lump sum.
