So using meaningful 2nd half AB's the following is Renfroe's AVG and OBP with RISP in meaningful spots meaning 3 run game before the 6th.. 1-2 run game after that..

AVG - 13/39 = .333

OBP - 20/46 = .435

Carry on with the meme please. So you remember having that thought a few times and over a small sample you "justified" it. Thats not how you analyze something. This says Renfroe was plenty clutch for us down the stretch.

23 RBI over the final 32 games… From the 3 spot. This, of course, led the team over the final 32 games.

Rea only had 20 RBI over this time while having the team's top 3 OBP guys in front of him.

And Rea was considered Mr. Clutch!!

Renfroe plays for the Padres now. He can't be clutch for MSU anymore.

You'd think a five tool player could figure out a way to still be clutch for us. Maybe that is the sixth tool.

I have some nuances and the five tools thing is one of them. To me, you have the five tools and then you have the sixth and seventh tool:

The tools of baseball according to Todd:

1. Power
2. Hitting for average
3. Speed- which really should be called base running
4. Defense
5. Arm strength
6. Baseball IQ
7. Leadership ability

Those seven qualiities would make a perfect position player for baseball IMO.
