I'm interviewing with Texas Heart Institute for School of Perfusion. I'm not sure what part of town. I have never been to Houston. It is part of St. Luke Hospital, in the Texas Medical Center.

Looks like he will be at St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital—The Denton A. Cooley Building (https://www.google.com/maps/place/6720+Bertner+Ave/@29.7074387,-95.4005329,13z/data=!4m2!3m1!1s0x8640c073e82154fd:0x1c9d258862902 649)

It's right next to the Houston Zoo per google maps, 610, southwest fwy and south fwy.

That medical complex is the largest in the world. It's in South central Houston.

I'll be down there this summer for an internship. Was born there but left as a small kid so don't remember it much. Anyone know the kind of college areas/bars and things I absolutely have to see/do while there?

That's it.

If you like sports, you'll be a short walk from the Med center to rice'a campus. Catch a baseball game there if you can.

Do breakfast, get the lumberjack at Le Peep in Rice Village.

For Mexican good, eat at Pappasitos.

For BBQ go find a Rudy's (pulled pork).

For drinks, rice village has lots of options. The GingerMan is a neat little bar there.

If you want a nice walk, Hermann park I right there too. Take a bag of peanuts and feed the squirrels.

If you take young kids, go to the children's museum.

If you have any specific questions, fire away. I lived near the med center for 7 years. Just moved to the suburbs last week.

I've lived in the houston area since 97. I gave a long post back in august about places to eat and drink. Look back and see.

Ask and I'll see what I can find out.

Nice Thanks for the Info. I be coming into to town tomorrow. Lucky me, my interview is at the same time as the worlds largest oil and gas convention. This equals outrageous hotel prices. Either way I've got a lot to check out!

OTC brings in thousands of people. If you are a strip club kind of guy, this is the weekend to be in Houston. For strippers, it's as big as a Super Bowl or NBA all star weekend.
