win 2 of 3 this weekend and we should be 7 going into the final stretch.

Maybe- but even if we win two of three, we'll more than likely be 8 or stay at 9. The only way we go up to seven would be for someone ahead of us to get swept. (which could happen)

Yep. We need to root for the Buckeyes and our Bulldogs this weekend.

we are actually now tied for 8th with oregon. They play at number 48 this weekend.

Nc state plays at home versus 5. So it will be hard to pass them but securing 8th is a definate possibility and 7th isnt out of reach.

Road wins count as 1.3 win while losses only count as 0.7 loss -- so everyone needs to keep that in mind when calculating RPI.

By my/Boyd's numbers:

Current adjusted record: 29.7-12.7 = .7005 WP
Current factor in RPI(1/3 total score) = .2335
Current total RPI = .6082
Current SOS factor = .3747

Taking 2 of 3:
Fixed adjusted record: 32.3-13.4 = .7068 WP
Fixed factor in RPI = .2356
Assuming SOS factor remains constant(all we can do for purpose of assumption -- although it likely improves) = .3747
Fixed total RPI = .6103

That puts us securely in 8th.

Since NC State plays a home series, the only way for both them and FSU to likely stay ahead of us is for NC State to take 2 of 3 at home -- which basically makes it an RPI wash for both of them, with FSU falling slightly and NC State rising slightly. If, by chance, FSU wins that series, we will cruise past NC State as well. Best case scenario for us there is an FSU road sweep...
