The SEC is so tight and balanced this year.

I could easily see five teams hosting with potentially an outside shot at six. The ACC got five last year, and I think the SEC is better than the ACC was last year.

It's pretty crazy to see Alabama and Kentucky looking this good in addition to what we already knew the SEC would have.

Also funny to see us back in the top 10 after so many panicked early on. If we win the LSU series (will be very, very tough but certainly possible), we have set ourselves up very well to compete for the SEC title. Win the SEC regular season and I don't care what you did OOC, you have a decent chance at a national seed.

If you win the SEC regular season, you ARE a national seed. Period. Don't think an SEC regular season winner hasn't been a top 8 seed.

We need to be playing to set ourselves up as a regional host. National seeding will take care of itself.

Our RPI went up to 50 too, so we are moving in the right direction there. 2 road wins in Baton Rouge would do wonders for our RPI. And if you look at our remaining schedule now, it's not as easy as we thought it might be coming in. Bama is ranked #15, OM is still ranked, Auburn and Tennessee were both ranked last week and have the potential to get back in, TAMU is down but still not bad. The only team we can really expect to sweep is Missouri, and we play them on the road. It's going to be a tough haul at the end of the year, which is just the price of doing business in the SEC in baseball.

Actually, our RPI is 46 right now- and it's statistically very close to being in the top 40. If we go 1-2 this weekend, we'll likely end up in the top 40. If we go 2-1, we'll probably be close to the top 30.

At the end of the day, if we keep winning SEC series and taking care of business, RPI will take care of itself.

Karma! Not having to play SC or Florida this regular season is great. We won the Vandy series and if we win the LSU series we are in very good shape to win the regular season SEC.
