Well the idea was if ball 4 it doesn't matter, if its a strike sending the runner helps you stay out of the DP. But Rea didn't swing on a ball that looked like ball 4 but didn't get the call.

And you do NOT run full speed on a hit and run like you are going to steal a base. That's not the point of a hit and run. You go about 3/4 speed while constantly looking in so you can read the contact.

Actually yes you do. If he starts with a strike, then comes back with 3 balls, the likelihood of him throwing a strike very close to the strike zone goes up because he doesn't want to walk a runner into scoring position with only 1 out in the first inning.

Between Britton, Detz and Humphries, I think you need Reid at DH and maybe rotate Brit and Detz at 3B. Detz just isn't getting it done at the plate and I don't understand why Reid isn't at DH against a LH. Reid will be the average and HR, RBI guy with playing time. Just my opinion.
