I can't stand listening to him during football games, but he's actually a pretty decent lead guy during a basketball game.

Actually, I like both him and danielson. I know I am in the extreme minority on this.

He's got a great announcer voice. I think if you paired him with say Todd Blackledge that pair for SEC football would be pretty good. Of course, hard to beat the Blackledge/Nessler combination for the ESPN prime time game.

Verne is well past his prime. His eyesight is starting to go and he struggles keeping up with the action in football. He's closer to the court in hoops, so he keeps up a little better. His mind is still sharp, though.

And I've always loved Raftery. He just gets fired up at anyone who hustles an plays hard. "Send it IN Jerome!" Maybe the best line ever. For the youngsters...

Completely agree!! Raftery is who brings Verne up in basketball
