Seriously though, with our ability to give up 6 runs in 2 innings already today...I think it was the right move to go with Ross there. Graveman and Lindgren could go complete games or into the 9th for Holder and we could never need Ross again. Unless it is far out of hand, you gotta play to win Game 1 and worry about the others later.

Renfroe has been chasing that low curveball again the last few weekends. I wish he would get back to being more selective and not helping the pitcher out.

This is not some major complaint or anything, he's a beast, I'm just noticing that he hasn't been laying off of balls as much his last few at bats. Anyone else noticing that?

But even if he doesn't throw a complete game, we have Bracewell, Fitts, Cox, Girodo and Shelly if needed. Not to mention Evan wild thang Mitchell if desperation sets in.

My question is....why go to one of those you mention if we don't have to risk it? You know what you're going to get with Ross and Holder.

I felt the same way you do a while back, but it's too late to "build" depth. We have to ride the arms that have led us to a great year so far. And we know that Holder and Ross can both pitch again tomorrow, so we only have one more game today to worry about, and our best pitcher is pitching. Plus, we have Bracewell and Fitts in the pen among others.
