Once as an underachieving 8 seed...and once as a desperate team that had to win the SEC Tourney to get in with a 13 seed

I still can't believe we didn't make it in Stansbury's last year. We should've at least been a 5 seed with the talent we had.

A team loaded with pretty elite talent upperclassmen -- and a couple of pretty elite freshmen. That should have been a sweet16 team at minimum if we're being honest with ourselves.

We went 4 times in the 3 years prior?

Nope just making a point you can make us look bad by saying 2 in the last nine

but if you say since our appearance in 2002 it has been 12 calendar years during which we were in the NCAA's 6 times

Or you could say we made postseason appearances 10 times in the last 13 years.

But coach chose to make us sound like shit, so take it for what its worth.

Well, each statement is correct. We've been to the Tournament 6 times in the last 13 seasons...but only twice in the past 9. I'd say it's a relevant stat to show where our basketball program is.

What does us being good at basketball a decade+ ago prove?

Stands had a really good 4 yr run- but other than that- we have been average at best

The last 9 seasons now- the best we have been is an 8 seed. Our 2nd best season was a 13 seed that only got in by winning the SEC Tourney in a yr the SEC only got 3 teams in the dance

Point was- you have to go back over a decade to make our program look good

I agree. We should look at the present.

Therefore we should fire Ricky Ray.

Absolutely relevant. Just merely pointing out that you can creatively skew one's perception with stats. I still hold that Coach's point was to make us look like shit.

So you agree the last 9 years of our program suck?

so you agree that 2 NCAA Tourneys the last 9 years is not very good? Good to know

That was truly amazing. One of the worst coaching jobs I have ever seen. Yet, people wanted to keep Stans around 1 more year so we could "Keep Josh Gray! And maybe have signed Pollard!"

It's a done deal and over now, but it's looking more and more like those people were right.
