Well, after an over 6 hour red-flag rain/thunder/tornado delay we are back with the engines on and the cars rolling. We should be starting the race back up within the hour. They have to complete 63 laps to make it official and have about 45 minutes to do so. NASCAR is playing with fire right now, IMO.

Even though the cells are weakening, there is a LOT of moisture available and I think NASCAR should be more safe than sorry at this point.

GREEN FLAG for lap 47/200. Only need 53 to make this race official. BOOGITY BOOGITY BOOGITY!

How long can they run 3 wide tight like that? Wreck coming soon

They can run a good 40 laps with that, clean track and is constantly picking up rubber.

Yep.

It sucks that Smoke got caught up in the wreck so early. He's just out there for points right now instead of being able to fight for the win.

I want to see Danica move back near the front, too. She had a great car early, but I fell asleep and didn't see how she wound up so far back.

You sure you weren't watching the replay of last year with Smoke's wreck?

That replay screwed up a lot of people thinking it was live

TheRef

Yeah I'm pretty sure you're talking about the replay, WMD. It fooled a lot of people, sadly.

Y'all sure? They had a whole segment saying he was back in the garage having his front end replaced. If I got fooled, oh well. F'n Fox.

Yupp...definitely last year. Only car not on the lead lap is the one who is completely out of the race, Martin Truex Jr.

what I wanna know is how many natty lites were consumed, how many of the women fans showed signs of physical abuse and how many of those motor homes out valued the primary residences of those valiant travelers.

You're not the only one. Fox News tweeted congratulations to Jimmy Johnson for being a back to back and three time winner.

Sorry, had to.

If driving a car at 200+ MPH is boring, I want to be bored as hell. And I personally find the strategy of how to win enjoyable. But I get why most people think it isn't fun. What NASCAR really needs to do is get rid of the restrictor plates. That'd separate the drivers from the wannabes and keep the field from staying so bunched up at speedways.

I would agree with you on the restrictor plates, but then we would have WAY more Carl Edwards at Talladega wrecks. NASCAR can't risk the insurance for that.

Opinions on that penalty against Kahne? I think that NASCAR should have given him the benefit of the doubt.

It seems like almost every year for about the last 5 years or so now weather has been an issue for this race. It suuuuucks. NASCAR should think about putting in a 1-week bye after this race so they can finish it on Mondays if necessary from now on.

You're in Central FL. It's going to happen whether you want it to or not. This race is official so they won't delay it until tomorrow. It WILL end tonight.

No doubt, but this is supposed to be NASCAR's biggest race of the year. Wish they could find a way to ensure all 200 laps get run every year. It won't happen, though.

The only way you could possibly ensure that is give a week buffer for it. But the you screw just about every fan because they won't be able to make plans in one week's notice. They have to keep it on the same schedule. Driver's like routine.

I'd argue the opposite, that making the cars more equal actually brings the better drivers up front more often rather than the better cars.

Blind squirrel...nut...you know how it is. He's good, but he isn't as good as his fans think. And he damn sure isn't his daddy. However, I will admit that it's good for the sport that arguably the most popular driver on the circuit won the biggest race of the year. I'm just aggravated Smoke seems to have inherited the Earnhart Sr. curse of being unable to win at Daytona.

Most talented driver is Kyle Busch.

Best team/setup is Jimmie Johnson obviously.

Jr. has talent, he's much more than just a name.

The most overall talented drivers are Kyle and Smoke. Smoke has regressed lately though leaving the easy pick as Kyle Busch. He can flat-out drive.

Not everyone is willing to drive 180 mph
Not everyone can repeat a swing over and over and over again- and get it where it needs to be

I can go with that. Id say rowdy is most talented. JJ, smoke, keselowski & JG are next tier. JJ obviously has the best team/chief.

Jr is a top 15 driver. He doesnt suck but he isnt good either.
