Home plate turf

Did the staff really think it through? How does having turf around home plate do anything to benefit us?

I'm no expert at this by any means but it has to be hard for the catchers. I would think it effects the catchers on balls in the dirt and low throws on plays at the plate. Balls don't skip off that turf like they do off dirt.

You can also look at it from another direction. We have practiced on that turf the entire season. Teams that come in to play us in Starkville have not. Vanderbilt seems to benefit from their turf.

Honestly, I have never been a fan of an artificial surface anywhere. There is something about real grass that you can't replicate.
