Anybody have a feel for how things stand with Patterson? Does he seem to be leaning in a particular direction yet?

Edit - Damn......just looked on 247, and everybody is predicting either UM or Bama.

He's been an OM lean prettymuch from the start. That said, we've got a lot of people down there in his ear about MSU and Hughes as his primary recruiter -- so we will see...

This would really make me happy. I wont get excited about Patterson. I hope Jesse Jackson can help get him here, but Im not holding my breathe. We have thrown alot of OL offers out lately.

We need to start a social media push for this 2015 Monster Class Mullen and Co. is building. If we could lock up a majority of the talent in MS this year we'd have a very special class.

Yeah it's kind of gross to be pushing for 2015 recruits but that's the name of the game. Wouldn't hurt to start following some 2016 recruits as well.

Don't you think it's kind of sick following a bunch of 16 and 17 year olds on social media? I know Ole Miss fans love to do this, but does it really help at all?

In honesty, Matt Luke has a pretty good resume as an OL coach -- and is a tremendous recruiter from here. He's going to "get his" on the OL for them IMO. Actually think he's got by far the best coaching resume on their staff outside of Werner who is an extenuating circumstance that fell into their laps basically...

We've got a couple of fans that do a tremendous job of it. And yes, it seems to help us. I don't follow many recruits, but I follow a bunch of our twitter "recruiters" and will retweet stuff that they post pretty regularly...

"I am going to try to get other big-time players in our class to join now," said Jones. "I'm going to work on Jamal Peters and we already have a close relationship. Tim Washington is already committed to us and me and Tim already stay in touch, too. I know a lot more kids in our class, too, and I am going to try to get all of them to Mississippi State."

They see what is coming.

Jesse Jackson is also apparently his cousin. I'm not counting on Patterson by any stretch (especially since I'm sure Ole Miss will do whatever it takes to lock down one of the few guys they seem to have leaning their way), but we definitely have a chance. I think it's a better chance than we've had with a lot of other guys in the past.

Well then "everyone" doesn't know shit. If you are looking at crystall balls, then ignore that 99% of the time because of restrictions on updating them/timeliness of updates. He is an Auburn lean with UM second us and Bama tied at 3rd.

So who are the top guys in MS still out there?

Fletcher Adams - big State lean
Leo Lewis - Bama/State, have to think we have a better than 50/50 shot here
Jamal Peters - who knows, toss-up
Malik Dear - reportedly a State lean, I still consider him a toss-up
Javon Patterson - don't have a great chance
Gabriel Campbell - I would think a State lean
Tommy Champion - apparently a State lean
Ephraim Kitchens - ? seems to like Townsend but probably still an OM lean

Who else is out there? It appears that Ole Miss doesn't have a good shot to land much in-state, which tells you the amount of crap they are going to throw against the wall this year will be epic.

Yep, definitely forgot about them. I think Spivey is an ATH at the next level and that he'll commit to someone that way - probably Ole Miss. I agree that we'll get one of the other 2.

Hate to hear Patterson is such a long shot with us. Guess I shouldn't be surprised though given our track record with elite OL recruits lately. Really wish we could get him because the developmental types on the OL are OK for the most part but having that one dominant type guy on the line, particularly at LT, can make a world of difference in an offense.

I'm thinking most of the o-line recruits are guys that the staff is going to want to see in camp. So, I bet we see some commits from those guys in July most likely other than maybe Tommy Champion. The player from Olive Branch that is grayshirting will go towards this class basically so we already have one o-lineman as far as I am concerned.

I still hope the staff changes their mind and takes two QB's. Let them compete and push each other.

I don't really see us taking more than 1 QB this year. Even with taking one that would have us with 5 scholarship QBs in the Fall of 2015. Can't really seeing us going above that.

I think we have a better shot with Patterson than most people think. I don't have any inside info or anything, but it's just my opinion.

Tony Hughes has done a great job in that area and is very well respected. We also have one of his best friends that will already be on campus in Jesse Jackson. I am sure that he and Cam Myers at least know each other since they are from the same area. Not sure if they are friends or not, but certainly can't hurt.

The only person out of that area that we haven't gotten that I can remember was Anthony Alford. I honestly don't ever remember us being that much of a player with him because many people figured he would go the MLB route.

I'll never understand why an o'lineman would rather play for OM than us. We're a physical running team. OM is a finesse team. I'd rather be pushing d'linemen than them pushing me
