I feel like someone is supposed to say "Our State."

We did on twitter:

A map of where Mississippi State has recruited for football from 2002-2014. Clearly this is OUR state! #HailState (https://twitter.com/search?q=%23HailState&src=hash) pic.twitter.com/CYaLt6EKJ8 (http://t.co/CYaLt6EKJ8)

Cool map. I like how you can see it following the interstate corridors.

Is there a reason some "M"'s are bigger than others?

we apparently do fairly well along the I-20 corridor.

What type of map is this and like is spiritual asked, what symbology is used for the "M"'s? Is there a link to view this in dynamic mode?

The larger the M, the more recruits from that area?

That makes sense if they used proportional symbols...

I like it! I'd be interested to see how it compares to OM's map.

That makes sense, except if the tiny one means 1, then we got several different kids from the same town in CA? And KS? It would just be weird if we got mutliple kids from 3-4 places in CA, and one place in IN, but nobody else from anywhere else in those states.

Justin Senior is from Canada but don't see an M there.

You can view the interactive map here (http://www.forwhomthecowbelltolls.com/mississippi-state-football-recruiting/2014/2/13/5410110/mississippi-state-football-recruiting-map-dan-mullen-2009-2014). It let's you look at other schools, additional years, conferences, etc.

Looking at the interactive map, it looks like it is symbolized based on their recruiting ranking. Look at the big "M" just to the east of Jackson and that is Quay Evans and then look right around Jackson and those are all 3* rated players like Jiles, Malone, and Brown.

That's what it is. If you disable all but 2 and 3 stars, the 3 stars become gigantic. If you disable all but 1 category of star ranking, they're all the same size.

We had a 5 star kicker in 2002?
