Is it actually happening this time?

Been hearing the imminence of this happening for years now...and it hasn't yet....

There's a free a article on his page. Says it's been in the works for a while but actually happening now. Makes sense, because he wasn't a full-time employee of Gene's.

That bunch sure is pretty cocky for a bunch of douche bags. I don't know, maybe that's too harsh. They just attract a certain type of crowd, where 247 attracts another. Gene probably still has the edge because he was the internet recrootin pioneer. They really need to find a way to co-exist. You could even tell the bitterness towards Paul Jones in that article. And we for damn sure don't need another different websites. MSU spreads its resources thin enough as it is.

I will bet that Gene has at least 1000 subscribers. You have to remember that he was the only show in town for so damn long and with Rivals and whatever else that other site was - people go back to him because he tells them what they want to hear, and is consistent.

You underestimate the sheep. Just now there was 2703 users online in his forums. Let's assume half of them have subscriptions. That's 1351 people. Assume they all pay $9/month for 12 months and that's $145,908. Add in advertisements and it's conceivable that they do pretty well.

Now, why do the sheep choose Gene? Like I said earlier, I think it's just because he was the first one. When an unknowing fan wishes to get MSU news on the internet, they think Gene's Page. Not sure why that is.

I have heard from pretty reliable sources its more like 2500 a month... Thats 25k a month give or take... Paul said he had 1100 paying members in a post today... So I fully believe as long as genes page has been around they are double that

ok-thats what? 100,000 grand between 3 guys?

I think he gets most of his business from consistency... people got tired of rivals and their constant peaks and valleys... then you had the Wardlaw debacle... Paul has been really really good but only been at it for 2 years... You can get on Genes page and research every class back to 2000...

You have too much coaching experience for that.

Now, if you were a janitor or in an insane asylum, then you would be good to go.

If the University loves them so much as it has been said here, it may be that they are getting a cut from MSU.

Genespage still, for the most part, controls the over 55 crowd and that's the crowd normally with more money to spend so they do quite well. The biggest issue is Gene and crew's feeling of entitlement because they were the first and acting like their competition doesn't have the right to exist. And as seen with the DeVinner debacle, they don't mind hurting MSU if they feel like in the same swing they can hurt their competition.

There's no way mean Gene has any subscribers under the age of 35. I suspect they get a salary from FOX as well.

I am pretty sure he has a good bit more than that. Within the last couple of years, somebody in chat was bitching about how they thought that our recruits were getting the shaft because we weren't one of Scout's big customer bases, and Steve told them that both GP and OMSpirit were ranked in the top 10 (or it could have been the top 15), with regards to the number of subscribers........so I think they have a pretty good number of members. But with 247Sports having come on as strong as they have, those numbers may have changed.

Honestly I don't really care either way about Rosebowl, Gene, Paul or Wardlaw.....but I AM glad that one more person will be paying taxes and hopefully spending all their money in the Golden Triangle.

I don't think they sell Cleveland Browns hats and Pittsburgh Penguins 4X T-Shirts in the Golden Triangle

Ha, was wondering if anybody would see the humor in that.

Yancy is always decked out in Ole Miss gear, and then Steve's big ass is typically in some random ass Boston Bruins hat and Jumbo Detroit Lions shirt or something. Just terrible.
