Masoli rule I guess. He's got a year of eligibility left. If you aren't familiar with him, we wanted him out of JUCO and maybe even thought we had him.

Wonder if we'd take him now, for a one year insurance policy? Or can we? Seems I remember that Slive closed that loophole (God forbid the MS schools exploit a weakness).

Pretty sure the Masoli loophole got closed for SEC teams.

But the Brunetti loophole is still alive and well (momma/sister/grandaddy/dog is sick and I want to be closer to home). Starkville is an hour closer to Beard's hometown than Athens, so maybe that would work?

He will probably end up in oxford just like every other transfer.

Ehh a lineman for one year? Is he that good?

Well Alabama just got the FSU QB via the same rule so if Slive closed the loophole it must not take effect until next year's recruiting class.

I doubt we'll get him, and I doubt we'd really even want him. I was just commenting on the possibility.

Apparently he got a good bit of playing time at Georgia last year though. Depth at oline is rarely a bad thing.

Agreed. O-line can make you or break you. Depth always important. Notice when we filled in the recruiting class at the end we did it with big bodies.

In 26 games he got 2 starts. Are we thin at OT because placing him in the rotation for one season would just take reps from a younger guy. I'll pass.

Well we should have any opening with quay gone. I see no issues with trying to add depth, even if only for a year.

I think they got around that because the QB has two years of eligibility left rather than just one.

I think they got around that because they are Alabama.

Coker the kid who transferred to Bama has 2 years of eligibility left not 1.

And some how he will count in their recruiting rankings for three years.

I'd take him in a heartbeat, but it looks like he is staying at UGA according to twitter
