Everything I've read about Logan Cooke indicates that he is not known for kicking field goals but expected to punt. Am I missing something here? Are we really going into the season without a field goal kicker again?
Also, who will be the holder? I know Dak did it last year and maybe Swedenburg in the past.

I expect D. Williams will hold. I bet Cooke will be tried at FG kicker, but if he's not adequate, I guess we're just stuck with hoping Bell will finally get his head straight.

I thought Bell was our punter, I guess we will red-shirt Cooke...

We won't know until next season.

I think field goal kicker will probably be a four way race between Bell, Sobiesk, Cooke, and maybe even some walk-on.

cooke was 1-3 in FGs for his career! He's not gonna be kicking FG's at state.

I'm not saying that this is a common incident or am suggesting that this will happen with Cooke- but Stephen Gostkowski was benched at Madison Central for missing field goals. He's now a solid kicker for the Patriots. And I'm not talking about Prep or MRA.

We have plenty of FG kickers, just not any good ones.

Yeah, I was either mis-informed or I mis-understood. I thought he kicked FG's too. I guess we'll see soon enough.

Sobiesk should be fine. he needs to get the ball up some more so it doesn't get blocked but accuracy shouldn't be a big issue for him IMO.

bell has got a monster of a leg.. his problems are two fold 1) Mentally: He has zero confidence and I mean, really, who could blame him 2) Mechanics: The kids plant foot NEVER lands in the same place.. The best way to fix this is to get some kind of kicking guru in over the offseason to work with him like crazy.. This will both build his confidence and hopefully fix his mechanics.

That's why I'm not in the boat to get Brian Johnson as an assistant.... we really need a special teams coach to be on these guys. Let Mullen deal with the qbs

Why can't we get Brian Johnson AND a ST coach?
