In no particular order,
Sopranos
Seinfeld
Sons of Anarchy
Rome
Deadwood

I apparently like violence and shows about nothing.

Seinfeld
Arrested Development. I would ding it for being short lived, but they did everything to not be cancelled. Seinfeld would have been cancelled too if NBC had been as short sighted as Fox.
I apparently don't like dramas. Even the Sopranos I quit watching midway through even though it was good. I will say I watched some MacGuyver and Quantum Leap back in the day. The only thing I watch consistently now is Walking Dead.

Walking Dead is worthy of consideration for sure. I never thought I would like a show about zombies but it's damn good. I didn't realize it's more about post-apocalyptic society than zombie slaying.

I think it was The Shield I tried to watch once where the camera just wouldn't stay still. Lots of quick cuts and camera always quickly zooming in or out and shaking all over the place. Couldn't stand it.

True Detective on HBO is only 3 episodes in and it is pretty damn good.

been watching true detectives. I think it's good because it makes you wonder what the hell is going on the entire time and how the ended up where they are.

Awesome cast. I can't believe they got those two to agree to do a series.

Has anyone had a career turnaround like McConaughey? I mean holy shit a decade of truly awful movies then dallas buyers club, mud, wolf of wall street, killer joe, true detectives all in a few years.

I don't hardly watch TV anymore. I've never seen one episode of American Idol, Breaking Bad, The Shield, Walking Dead, Sopranos, Lost, X-Files, etc. I've only watched Seinfeld once or twice.

Andy Griffith (been in continuous syndication for 49 years, that is strong).
Yes Prime Minister (a Britcom that is the most intelligent sitcom ever)
Burns and Allen
Leave it to Beaver
To the Manor Born (another Britcom)

The things all the above have is a plot. US comedies since the 70s have the same formula. "Line, line, gag" so the entire show is a collection of gags. The older show were written by radio guys who had to be funny because they had no visual props. "I Love Lucy and "Jack Benny" were great too.

I agree. Possibly my all-time favorite.

The Shield
Walking Dead
Seinfield
Andy Griffith

Tempted to put Les Stroud - SurvivorMan on the list. I love those types of shows.

Joe Rogan interviewed that guy on one of his podcasts. Seemed like a real solid dude.. Haven't been able to catch any of the episodes though.

Two and a Half Men (yes I love shows with drinking and whores)

Two and a half men is entertaining enough, but all of Chuck Lorie's (sp?) shows are the same to me. They do cheap gags well enough so they're at least entertaining, but none of them are what I would call quality (two and a 1/2 men, big bang theory, two broke girls). Brooklyn 99 and Modern Family are both better current comedies to me than any of Chuck Lorie's shows.

Modern Family is my favorite sitcom right now. Has been for a while. Also like Always Sunny, but just watch reruns and don't follow it religiously. Most other shows I watch are the hour long dramas.
