Amen brother. It's silly how the football HOF treats kickers and punters.

The 93 yard punt or whatever it was- was against Ole Miss if I'm not mistaken. There's footage of it at the Mississippi Sports HOF, and it's kind of funny because you see Guy and then you see him kick the ball and it looks like it going to go through the top of the TV. And then you see the kick returner who was on the 50 just turn around and make a bee line for the ball, which of course rolled out of bound at like the 1 yard line. It was awesome.

What's interesting is that Guy may not even be the best punter to come out of usm. Jerrel Wilson punted for the Chiefs about 15 years and had a higher career average than Guy. There were always stories that the two didn't get along and Wilson was angry Guy got all the attention. They were two of the best.

Ray Guy was a super athlete. He could have played some other positions.

It's kind of hard to rate punters based on stats. Punting a ball 35 yards and pinning a team on the one is essentially the same as pinning somone on the one with a 50 yard punt, but the guy kicking the 50 yard punt has the better average.

I saw both and they are two of the best. Wilson died several years ago.

For what? Throwing more interceptions that TD passes or losing to the Steelers every year?
