Jamoney saying he's coming to the Florida game. Says he hasn't been to a State game since he left in 2008. Said he "snuck into Starkville "Thursday to watch women play Tennessee.

It's a real shame how his career ended up. He's one of the most talented players we ever had; he was just a dumbass.

We talking about Jamont Gordon? He left early and that proved to be a bad decision, but I still look back on his time at State fondly. I don't have think poorly of him at all.

Him and Rhodes provided awesome games at the hump. Love those guys. The Gordon behind the head to Rhodes is one of my all time favorite memories

The guy is making about 500k a year tax free playing in Europe and supporting his family. Not to mention he got away from the Stansbury mess a year early. He bleeds maroon and never once didnt play hard. Yea, a real dumbass.

The 3 pointer he made in SEC tourney against Kentucky sticks out in my mind. Loved watching him play. Like Will said, he and Rhodes were quite the tandem.

When did Europe go tax free. Europe has some of the highest taxes in the world.

Gordon is awesome! One of my favorite State ballers ever and he makes the top 13 All-Time best MSU players list imo. Nice guy too. Three to tie UK was so sweet!! I still wonder if he'd been a better football player. Gordon was/is built like a truck. He did get some shitty draft advice though.

Bear troll? Lol, that is funny. So me having an opinion that apparently is not shared makes me a bear troll? I have the same username on SPS, btw.

Look, I loved watching him play. He is one of my favorite players from the Stans era, and I agree, the no-look helicopter pass to Rhodes was awesome. I'm still partial to the pull-up three that sent us to overtime against KY in the 06/07 SEC Tourney: "Mr. Clutch, as he hold's the pose...". You remember that one, Bully13? Or were you still in high school at the time?

That year, combining with C. Rhodes, Barry, Ben, and Swat, was probably my favorite team in recent memory. Super talented and, at the same time, super underachievers. Had we won a few more of our non-cons that year (I'm looking at you, Miami of Ohio...), we'd have had a better seed in the tourney that year. We did play Memphis better than anyone that year (other than Kansas in the finals, obviously), but having to face a 1 seed in round 2 sucks.

Ok...Maybe dumbass was a bit strong. I thought leaving early was an extremely bad move. He was a great, and unique, player - As a PG, being 6'4" and weighing 230 made him a mismatch against everyone who tried to guard him.

That being said, he was a turnover machine, and a ball-hog, with a below average jump shot (just a few reasons he hasn't sniffed the League). If you think this makes me an undercover "bear troll", you're a fool.

European teams pay their players income taxes for them.

Jamont played his ass off for us. He was a stingy, selfish player that wasnt the best team leader by any means- but he absolutely played his ass off.

No ill-will for Jamont- he just needed a coach more like Williams.

Awesome!! Thanks for posting. JMoney dribbling in between his legs up the court is great too especially when you look at the score.

He would be unstoppable in today's game. If you couldn't hand check Him He would go to the basket every play.

The love affair with Richard Williams, must come from Fans that didn't attend games during His Era. There are reasons we fired Him. He ran off several really good players . He has some really bad teams. He over coached Donte the first half of the Final Four Year, and benched Him a lot. Jamont might not have responded to Williams style of Coaching. He had a terrible record in the SEC Tourney. When he benched Todd Merritt in the Big Dance and we lost in the first round, I was pissed.
