One of my buddies when I was at State had an offer to play hockey (actual NCAA) for Notre Dame but it involved him going to some kind of minor program and it would have involved him spending ~7 years to get his undergrad with a minimum scholarship. Apparently hockey players get like $50 in scholarship money. It's entirely bullshit. You can actually play in the NHL while in college just as long as the NHL team doesn't pay you.

THIS is why hockey will never be a major sport in the US. Even the way the NCAA operates hockey is entirely Canadian.

For those of you interested, there's another game tonight at the same time (7 PM). Last night there was a final fight at the beginning of the third. Player for MSU initiated and busted his face pretty well. He's not suspended but he is incapable to play tonight due to having to get stitches from his eyebrow to about the center of his forehead.
