If our fans want to see more power and such- artificial turf is typically not what you want.

I think if we did install it, it could actually hurt us in postseason play since so few people have it.

So, I guess I'm plus 5 in hell no.

Not to mention we teach our pitchers to throw sinking fastballs...and ground balls do not help a lot on that shit

We have a big agricultural program. We have developed our own types of grasses. We have a big turfgrass management major. We can't put artificial turf on fields.

Yeah- it might be kind of a slap in their face if we installed turf for baseball or football. And I'm sure that they use getting experience with our athletic teams as part of their recruiting.

I think they should make Vandy change their shit back. No wonder they lead by so much in stolen bases, a stolen base is a given running on that track. Some sure out infield grounders this weekend were singles. That shit, unlike football, takes away the integrity of the game.

Should we make Kentucky move their fences out also? Its a difference in the game. They aren't the only ones who do it. If it's that easy to steal bases we should of been doing it all weekend too and hit the ball in the same spots they did.

Sure I'm a baseball traditionalist and believe the field should be Grass but I'm not going to make excuses for losing a game on it.

I'm with you on this. It greatly affects defense if you are not used to playing on it as well.

The difference is at Kentucky, it's not nearly as drastic an adjustment for an entire team.

Well if vandy gets used to playing on that turf, wouldn't it affect them on the road? By you guys reasoning, when vandy is on the road the home team would have an advantage

Thats not even my issue. It's the speed of running. Vandy's basepaths play at 85 feet because of the running track. If they kept the turf but had real dirt I'd be okay but the TurfDirt is bullshit and affects the game's integrity.

It's not going anywhere and something we will have to adjust to when playing there..especially if rain is in the forecast. Its not the norm but several other schools (wake forest, virginia tech...and Texas has had it for years) have same or similar products.

I dont like there not being on the a field either but not anything the team can do about it but play the advantages the same as the home team does.

Heres an article about the install of the turf at VU (http://nashvillecitypaper.com/content/sports/requested-coaches-vanderbilt-hopes-turf-football-baseball-fields-reaps-dividends)..it happened at the same time their football stadium changed also. Corbin cites ability to get in spring practices due to weather as one reason

LOL. That's ridiculous. I remember Frazier almost slid off the bag on his leadoff triple because of that stuff.
