Does anyone know of a decent band around the Jackson area that won't break the bank for a wedding? TIA

Hunter & the Gators are the best band in the Jackson area. They do weddings but I don't know what they typically cost. You might be able to get Hunter Gibson by himself for less, and it'd be worth it. He plays keyboards, guitar and sings very well. He does a lot of solo gigs around town. When he's with the band they can cover anything, and do it well. Worth an inquiry.

I'll reply tomorrow when I look up the name. My family got a band for the rehearsal dinner and they were fun. We did a DJ for the wedding and he was really good too. Same DJ did 2 family members weddings as well. DJ's name was Phillip Cothern ( http://www.dj51-50.com ). I'll edit when I remember band name

Awesome guys, thanks for the help! And no Flab haha this isn't about the wedding ring band, but if you have info on that as well I'll take it.

Emma Wynters- Blues, Jazz, Pop, Rock, Country, Folk. For booking call Rick Henry 601-668-9968. http://www.reverbnation.com/emmawynters

This band was a bunch of fun. They strike me as a bunch of older hippies who enjoy playing music. It should be noted that both my suggestions were fairly cheap relative to what a lot of other bands and dj's charge. If you aren't making it rain hundos, both are worth a look. Hope that helps.

Damn...both of these bands are still playing? I remember many a weekend in high school in the early 2000's going to frat parties and it always seemed like either U.S. or 17th floor was a headliner for a big weekend. I'm not picky, my only requirement is that they can play this song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2xJWQPdG7jE

If you want a DJ, Dr. John is your man.... don't know much about the live music scene around Jackson, or what type of music you are looking for, budget, etc. but I know several bands that you can contact. You can go country, Blues, rock, whatever....
