The speed at which the new hire is made could tell us if Les was told to look around, or Mullen was caught off guard today.

I would say any hire between now and Friday at the OC position would likely tell us that Mullen had already been pondering who Koenning's replacement would be.

Unless Mullen just decided to promote from within. I could see that fast of a turnaround if he were surprised at his leaving if it ends up being an internal hire. If this is an outside hire then I agree - he anticipated this coming for a while now.
