be interesting to see if this is a ploy to get more money or legitimate interest.

I hope he gets it. Will make a great storyline when we spank Vandy this Fall. Mark would do a solid job too and keep Vandy relevant in the East

We didn't want him anyway ***

Love to see him go there and continue the Vandy tradition of owning that Ole Miss ass!

I'd be surprised if he ends up at Vandy... I think the hang up ends up being the same as it likely was at Ole Miss...

Right now HUD is at best 3rd on the list. Derek Mason & Chad Morris are they're clear cut top 2 guys but you know how coaching searches go. However I don't see them missing on the 1st 2.

Which brings up an interesting question- would we want to hire a coach Vandy wouldn't even hire?

This is about the best landing spot we could hope for with Hud. He'd play vs Ole Miss every year and us only once every seven years. He gets major SEC experience and is a thorn in the ass of the other SEC East schools and our rival every year. I hope he gets this job.

I agree. And I bet there would be something in his contract that would allow him to come to State if offered when the time comes. I kinda hope he gets it unless he beats our ass next year.

No way Vandy will beat our ass next year. Just no way.

I've been a State fan for 46 years. It's very possible. Not likely, but possible. Especially if they hire Hud. His biggest game would be against MSU. Bank on that.

It isn't possible because next year we go to Atlanta.

He doesn't. That's why you put something in your contract up front. That's assuming he is still interested in ever becoming our head coach.

No **** needed. This year looks to be the best chance we've had since 98/99.

Vandy has decided to shell out the money to be competitive. The university looks like it is actually backing athletics now. It wouldn't surprise me if Vandy had more money than Tenn. I know the Frist's are very supportive of the university. Vandy I believe has several people that are either billionaires or are very close to it that care about that school.

Vandy is losing a ton from their team this year - after losing most of their recruiting class - that program is in shambles. PSU drug their feet on the hire too, which means vandy may not have a coach in place for the first official weekend.

FWIW Jack Reed (former Mayor, Reed's clothing stores)from Tupelo is a Vandy alum..

Saw that Vandy is interviewing the OC for the colts... Then saw on twitter that Hud is in Indy for the Pacers game.

Except for Freeze. He is having a followup to his November 11th meeting in Indy.
