And Dish is on the cusp of being the second provider to get on board....

Notes:
- $1.30/mo/sub inside the SEC footprint. B1G network pulls $1.00/mo/sub in their footprint.
- $0.25/mo/sub outside the footprint. B1G pulls between $0.10 and $0.15/mo/sub outside their footprint.

Important to note that this in an initial fee that will almost assuredly go up once viewership numbers on the network come in and cable providers understand just how large of a "must have" it is for them. The B1G started out at $0.70/mo/sub -- just over half of what the SEC is charging.

With just Dish and UVerse(18.5mil combined subscribers), the network will easily generate over $100mil/yr and will likely approach $120mil/yr. The SEC gets half of that money -- and I believe that it is divided 15 ways with the conference keeping a share. So with JUST 2 providers -- more than 7 months from launch -- the SECNetwork in year 1 is already worth between $3-$4mil/yr directly for MSU...

Never in a million years would I have expected DISH to be out front on this. They are notoriously the last provider to get the latest channels. Hell, we don't even have ESPNU in HD yet. Let me restate: Dish Network STILL does not have ESPNU in HD!!!!!

I fully expected to be switching to UVerse right before the SECN launched.

You must not have the Hopper, absolutely the very best way to watch HD.

Unless you want to watch ESPNU in HD. Then you are screwed.

It's rare that providers get on board this early. Dish's deal is part of their renegotiation with ESPN overall in a deal that expired awhile back.

Most will go down to the final weeks leading up to the launch in August IMO...but I would be TOTALLY shocked if a single game was played without every provider in the southeast being on board...

This coupled with free NFL sunday ticket and dish has gone up on my bill 5 dillars a month the past 2 years is why i'm switching.

That's the only thing Direct doesn't have. It's about 10,000x better than Dish. I tried Dish. Never again.

Related Question: Since SEC Network is affiliated with ESPN... will all SEC games and replays be on the ESPN3/WatchESPN App?

What's it look like with Comcast included?

To each their own, I guess. If I stick with satellite, I will most certainly stick with Dish over Direct.

By my math, $28 to 35 million per school.

I agree, Dish is superior to Directv in my experience.

I had Dish for two years, then switched to DIRECTV. DIRECTV is much better. If you just want the base then who cares, but if you want sports packages, Direct has them all and I don't drop signals in the rain like I did on Dish.

I prefer more sports channels and more HD, so Direct is much better for me.

I don't buy "sports packages". The SEC takes care of that for me by having 90% of their games on major networks. And once the SECnetwork launches, it will be 100%.

Give me all the ESPN's and the regional Fox's and I'm good.
