Now:

Collins: $291K
Hevesy: $286K
Koenning: $286K
Townsend: $250K
Gonzales: $250K
Knox: $230K
Hughes: $227K
Turner: $200K
Sallach: $144K

After Raises:

Collins: 400k ( I am hearing a raise in the neighborhood of 200k so that would move him closer to 500k not sure how accurate this is though but just what I am hearing)
Hevesy: 300k
Koenning: 300k
Townsend: 275k
Gonzales: 275k
knox: 250k
hughes: 250k
Turner:215k
sallach: 150k

This is purely speculation.. Im not saying this is what is happening but I am saying that based on the past raises for assistants this would be close...

This is what I would LIKE to see though:

Collins: 550k
Hevesy: 286k
koenning: 286k
Townsend: 300k
Gonzales: 275K
knox:230k
hughes:227k
Turner: 250k
Sallach: 144K

Hughes needs to be paid. I'd bump him up to equal to Hevesy and Koenning. He's the best recruiter by a mile -- and is recruiting coordinator.

Collins - $500k with incentives that could take him to $750
Koenning - $300k with incentives to get to $400k
Hevesy - same
Hughes - same
Gonzo - $275k with incentives to get to $350k
Townsend - same
Turner - $250k with incentives to get to $350k
Knox - same
Sallach = $150k

Total assistant pool - $2.6mil base up from $2.168 mil base. That takes us from 41st in assistant pay -- to 26th. Totally reasonable IMO.

When will there be a bump if there's going to be one? Is there a legitimate timetable or just sort of they do it when they do it kind of thing?

usually announced after the season or after signing day if I'm not mistaken

That's what I figured but wasn't sure.

Is it possible that there will be a staff change or two after signing day, and, due to that, they are holding off on announcing raises so they don't give away which staff members are involved?

Interesting thought. I was thinkin the same that's why I was wondering on a normal timeframe. I would think getting it out there as soon as possible to let recruits know, coach A,B,C just got a raise and isn't going anywhere kind of thing. May mean nothing just a thought.

Sorry I don't see your OC making that much less than the DC...or the OL coach making what your OC is making

Wasn't someone hinting that we had a new hire coming in. Besides S&C. Made it sound like OC and/or ST. Not sure how legit that was.

Hmmm...

You obviously have no clue about our program. Our OC doubles as the head coach. The guy with the title is a QB coach/gameplanner. He's an OC in title only.

I'm all for incentive pay, but without factoring in any incentives, I came up with this:

Collins - $450k
Hevesy - $300k
Koenning - $300k
Townsend - $275k
Gonzo - $275k
Knox - $250k
Hughes - $275k
Turner - $250k
Sallach - $150k

With the exception of Collins, these are modest raises and wouldn't break the bank. State did go only 6-6 in the regular season. Huge raises were not earned. Collins did prove to be far better DC than the guy who left for Georgia, and fielded a middle of the pack or better SEC defense that seemed to steadily improve as the season progressed. Thus I feel he earned a large raise. $450k is about right at this early stage of his career.

Now, if State has a big year in 2014, as in 9 wins or more, then even bigger raises will be in order at the completion of the bowl season. As for Mullen, he is paid handsomely enough already given his job performance thus far. No raise at this time other than what was already in place based on his 4 year contract Stricklin put in place 2 years ago. Give us 9 to 10 wins in 2014, then we can bump Dan's salary.

Oh yeah, Dan should fire himself immediately as special teams coach and hire a good ST coach for 175 to 200k. It would be money well spent. I've never seen more pathetic special teams in my lifetime at any level of competition as I saw out of State in 2013.
