With Golden taking the Penn State job, doesn't it make much more sense for Strong to go to Miami where he has all the connections in the world?

I wonder if Strong is holding out on the Texas announcement, to wait for Miami to call? Or perhaps Miami asked him to wait.

No. Texas > Miami. Strong will have no problems recruiting at Texas.

If you have the choice between Miami and Texas, I have no idea why you would go to Miami.

No doubt, from 30,000 feet, the it's obvious that the Texas job is better, but that doesn't mean that Strong, who is from Florida, wouldn't rather be the coach of Miami.

Strong's family may rather live in Miami, since they are from Florida, than in Austin where they have no family or connections. Just saying

If he is looking for a new job and the Texas position is on the table, you quickly accept the keys to the biggest program on the planet. He can fail at Texas and still get a job at Miami. If he fails at Miami, he'll have no chance at Texas.

Imagine Texas recruiting with a coach that has ties in Florida..scary. He can take 15 from Texas and 10 from Florida and have the #1 class without stepping outside those two states.

Strong is from ArK he just has more contacts in FL
