View Full Version : I'm making a prediction that I will answer for soon enough...Oklahoma beats Bammer...

I guess I just think differently that most (duh right?). I've heard so many people talk about how Bama is 'mad' that they aren't playing for the title, they'll be out for blood, whatever. Were they mad in 2008? Was Florida mad last year? Typically, what Bama has been through the past few weeks doesn't equal them being 'up' for the bowl game. When you lose your shot at the ch'ip in your final game, you're usually flat as f*ck. Oh wait, they beat the hell out of Sparty after Auburn beat them in 2010? Doesn't matter, they were out of the natty race in November when they lost to LSU. Irrelevant.

Oklahoma, on the other hand, WILL be jacked to be there. They came from nowhere to win the Big 12. And people think Stoops will now have to 'answer' for his comments??? Shit, that dude cannot wait for tonight. HE is the one who smells blood in the water. Especially with all the Saban drama.

I said it. Win or lose. Oklahoma 28, Alabama 17.

kudos and making a ballsy prediction. The only reason I disagree is because I don't think bama will come out flat bc of all the mouth running Stoops has done for the last year and a half. Saban uses that stuff better than anyone I know.

I like your prediction and hope it goes that way. I hate bama.

Baylor won the Big 12.

But I think from our pespective on the motivational aspect that you would have to favor OU. Not of a fan of Blake Bell though. OU will have to be able to throw the ball to win this game.

If 'motivation' were the only consideration I'd say you were spot on. I just dont think the Sooners have the firepower. OSU, sure. Up and down as they are, they could give bama fits. But the sooners, at least in my perception, are so similar to Bama that they will struggle to surprise them in any way.

Now, if Oklahoma does to bama what we did, that is to say that they find a way to stop the run and drop 7-8 into coverage without letting bama's qb gut them with long passes, they have a shot.

I, too, respect the ballsy prediction, but as much as there is a chance that Bama comes out flat like they did against Utah. you are underestimating Big Game Bob's ability to lose a BCS game. He is something like 1-6 in them, with the only win being against 8-4 Big East champion UConn.

Bob Stoops talks a lot and then gets lit up. When was the last time he won any game of importance. Last SEC team he played was TAMU last year and lost by more that four touchdowns. I'm not a Bama fan but they win by 3-4 scores. SEC > Big 12.

Yep, I was off. I guess they just ruined the Pokes chances, so I assumed they won it. Either way, came from nowhere to earn a BCS bowl.

Never bet against Saben. Alabama doesn't have to be 'up' for this game. The Sooners just aren't that good.

Bama is the best team
In the country. No way in hell they lose to an Oklahoma team that is meh...,Bama wins big!

6 to every 1 bet in Vegas is on Bama. That usually means OU covers the 17 point spread, but they don't have the talent to win. OU would probably be the 9th best team in the SEC this year.

Alabama is going to destroy Oklahoma. As Charles Barkley would say, "I may be wrong, but I doubt it."

How did he get that national championship if he has only won one BCS game?

Oklahoma with a missed opportunity there. Stoops gotta be pleased they were moving though.

Bama's defense just not on the level of their past defenses IMO. Good, but not great.

Shit ain't over though. Other posters were right about OU's talent....they are a tad below what they used to be under Stoops. I hadn't watched them much this year.

Great pick. Bama got outplayed and out coached. Bama looked like they didn't want to be there. Screw them.

Goat, damn! How did you know that their QB would play like Aaron Rodgers tonight and Bama would get goated out of their game plan and try to play OU type football? That was an asswhipping that not many saw coming. Hats off to you!

You think their talent level is down now? Go look at this year's recruiting class. Yikes.

I would never have called that in 100 attempts. Good one. Saben got it handed to him. He's not going to have a good off season.

Good call Goat. Surprised me. The defense for Alabama looked terrible. Kirby Smart looked not so smart. Wish they had been that unready when we played them.

I was wrong. I own it. Bama should have won and probably would have if their defense could've gotten off the field on that last drive by Oklahoma.

This prediction was not hard. It happens almost every year it seems. The SEC teams that usually take the 2nd BCS slots are ones coming off an SEC Ch'ip loss or similar. Basically their feelings are hurt because they aren't in the real championship. 2006 is when the BCS title game was added, thus routinely getting 2 SEC teams in:

2006 LSU was happy to be there with no late season defeats and rolled up Notre Dame
2007 Georgia the same over Hawaii
2008 Bammer loses SEC title game and gets whacked by Utah
2009 Florida loses SEC title game but still beat up on coachless Cincy but were still 'down' and just out-talented them
2010 Arkansas was actually fired up to be there, but still lost
2011 both teams were in Ch'ip
2012 Florida disappointed in not getting in title game and gets rolled by Louisville
2013 Bammer Boomer Sooner

I don't know, maybe it's not cut and dried, but I didn't see Bama being interested in this game.
