I'd agree with that logic if there weren't always five to ten teams that the voters themselves know aren't among the 25 best teams in college football. Since it's 90% about the wins and losses next to your name, I'd say not a chance.

Seems like rankings in football are similar to win totals in voting for the CY Young Award. They are an indicator, but really have little to do with how good you actually are as a football team.

Because they are a media darling that ESPN has been pimping the recruiting class for for a year now...it would make Them look stupid for a team they devoted countless hours to, not to be ranked. And they are an 8 win SEC team. I'm not saying I'd be shocked either way, but I would not be one bit surprised to see OM ranked.

Seemed like 2 or 3 times a week homer asschoff had bear articles up instead of writing on the higher rated teams. I'm sure it'll be the same this year also. He's an idiot anyway. He picked Rice to win, then played it off as trying to get an early lead in their pick contest.

I'd say not a chance, but we're for damn sure better than several teams that will be ranked so I'm not too worried about it. No doubt in my mind that we're a top 25 team, even if the final rankings don't reflect that.

Neither State nor Ole Miss will receive enough votes to be ranked. Though I won't be shocked if both are in the others receiving votes category, since that just requires anybody to vote for them. But Ole Miss will be ranked preseason, and State might be ranked in some guys' polls.

However, those SOB's know what we've got and they won't admit it but we the scare the HELL outta them......17 of 22 starters return........They have 15 returning........We have 39 of 44 returning on the two deep.......They played ten frosh in the Egg Bowl, we played 15.......They're too damn arrogant to admit it but for all their recruiting exploits, they haven't gained shit on us..........
