A guy in section 119 died before the game from (I believe) a heart attack. The response team was terrible.

I sat a section over- it was really really awful.

Oh goodness, so sorry to hear that. I'm sure that would have been very traumatic for the fans in the stadium sitting around him.

Response time was terrible. They should have had a plan for things like that. Very sad

Me and O48 were there too. We were trying to get to our seats, and they were working on him very aggressively. It did not look good at all....prayers for family and friends!!!

Did they at least get the family out of there while they were working on him?

And in no way am I saying the facilities or what not doesn't suck, I just hope that MSU, especially in a historic win, help him and his legacy in some form or fashion. I've heard the staff sucked here, and if that's the case I hope they're called out.

Shit- that is terrible. I saw it- they guy was 10-12 rows above me. All this happened before the game when people were trying to get to their seats- so it was toygh for the response team to even get there. All the aisles were packed

I saw the staff at MS Vet Memorial carry a guy out of a high school game. They had a stretcher device made for stairs.

I saw a guy running in a yellow jacket and started following him when I saw he didn't stop. I kept looking for other yellow coats. I told my wife that he was performing CPR on someone. I did not see any body else helping him (stadium or emergency crew) for what seemed like 5 minutes. That doesn't matter. What matters is the family of the person who passed away. From my limited experience if someone has a heart attack, fast hospital response is really all that can help. I hate that someone was there supporting their Bulldogs!

It may not be the same guy, but late in the game Manziel and a Duke defender absolutely demolished a guy while going out of bounds.

This was not the same guy. He was a 59 year old Associated Press photographer from Alabama. He didn't make it.

Update: The elderly MSU fan that died at the start of the Liberty Bowl game was Joe Johnson who was county engineer in Copiah County. He was 78 years old....

I saw it all too. It was very disturbing. I had a bad feeling that the individual would not make it. The EMTs were working frantically on him.
