Need some recommendations on vacation. Ive been to maui, aruba, cozumel and jamaica, so those are out. Want beach. Carribean mainly with the possibility of cabo.

We dont have kids. We are interested in beach, drinking, good restaurants and bars and hopefully some cool stuff around like waterfalls or rain forest, etc. ideas?

My wife and I really enjoy Sandals Great Exuma which is in the Bahamas. Easy flight to get there, the water is beautiful and the golf course on the resort is awesome.

If you don't really have any restrictions, how about Greece? Plenty of ocean, food, and attractions. I've never been personally, but it's on my bucket list.

Try St. Barth's. Best vacations I've ever had. The island is a French concern and they do it up right....lifestyles of the rich and famous stuff. Very European, tons of great beaches (where folks are not shy about taking their clothes off), great diving and snorkeling, great hikes to some secluded spots on the Island, tremendous spots to enjoy cocktails and fine dining to beat the band. The island is only 8 sq mi and they have over 80 restaurants, many of which are incredible, offering something for everyone. They even claim to have the burger that Jimmy Buffet sings about in "Cheeseburger in Paradise". If interested, check out the magnificent villas for rent at the West Indies Management Company (Wimco)....they'll have whatever you're looking for and are great to work with.

I think Cabo sucks. Turks and Caicos.

Which spot was your favorite out of the ones you mentioned? Maui?

Aruba. Anyone been to nassau? Ive got a zillion hilton points and they have them at nassau, domincan, puerto rico, barbados, trinidad and tobago, jamaica, curacao, etc.

Ive heard great things about turks and caicos. I dont have to stay at hilton but free trips are better than paid ones.

Since I am a West Coast guy. San Diego has everything. Maui is nice but Kauai is the best Island. Or just Phoenix, AZ during spring training and stay in Scotsdale

We just got back from here a couple of weeks ago. It was awesome. They treat you like Kings. TripAdvisor recently had it listed as the #3 all inclusive hotel in the world. I honestly cannot think of a single negative about the resort.

Antigua is great if you're looking for some laid back island life, but there aren't a lot of great restaurants and bars. they have them, but they're hot going to be all club'd up.

you can snorkel, horse back ride, take a catamaran out to snake island, island hop some, etc... if you go, definitely do snake island. it's on the edge of the continental divide. one of the most amazing views I've ever seen. you feel like you're literally on the edge of the world. Gorgeous islands speckled throughout crystal clear water on one side and deep dark blue on the other with zero islands. it's amazing.

it'll be mostly South African and European tourist at the resorts. the people on the island are very friendly too.

Agree with Costa Rica. Awesome rain forests (with zip lines if you are into that), hot springs resorts around Arenal volcano, horseback riding up the volcano, and plenty of good beaches and sport fishing on the Pacific side. We went 15 years ago in our late 20's before kids and had a blast. No need to spend any time in the capital San Jose other than for flying in and out. Land, rent a 4 wheel drive and go explore the country.

One lasting memory of the trip was getting smuggled back to the employee lounge of the Tabacon Hot Springs resort to watch the Egg Bowl on ESPN via satellite. It was 1998 and I think it was Thanksgiving night. I had to turn the volume off b/c Spanish was coming out of Corso's mouth, but we beat them in Oxford.

Someone mentioned St. Croix either on here or on SPS and it seemed like a great place. I checked out summer
Rates and it was very reasonable. I believe their peak season is Nov- March..., I have been thinking about booking a trip for me and the wife but I'm not sure... A lot if info on St. Croix on trip advisor.

Parents did the DR last year and their pics from the trip were amazing. Went during the offseason and pretty much had the resort to themselves and great weather.

Honeymooned in the Riveria Maya and loved it. Did all inclusive which made it easy and chartered scuba, jungle hikes etc.

Costa Rica has it all from beaches to waterfalls and Jamaica is nice.

Turks and Caicos is awesome but to me only for beach, drinking, eating, and water sports. We are looking to hit St. Maarteen. The research we have done so far it looks great. Has all you are looking for plus casinos. TC is mostly lay on your ass but its awesome.

If you're not actually going in the water, San Diego is very very hard to beat out.
