RPI for State this year is irrelevant. Not gonna have enough wins to be considered for the big dance.

Not a fan of RPI. As long as you play good teams, it doesn't matter if you get skulldrug, you'll have a decent RPI.

I used to think this too, but you really won't unless you beat one of them.

South Carolina's jumps out at me. 92 isn't bad, in fact they use top 100 wins for evaluation. But yea you are right to an extent.

Also, LSU at 17 baffles me.

Yea, not a big fan of RPI at all but obviously the NCAA committee puts stock in it and just thought I would list where everyone in the conference at the moment. But just for an example, Jackson St. is sitting at 120 right now (likely because they've played a pretty good schedule) and that would put them ahead of FIVE SEC schools.

Alot of SWAC schools have higher RPI's early- they play good schools for money to supplement their programs. They soon drop because they have to start playing other SWAC schools. Jackson State has a coach in Brent that could possibly elevate them somewhat by drawing alot of transfer talent from bigger schools.

Our RPI will start jumping with the SEC schedule and us getting a few SEC wins. It's irrelevant for us- but if you like watching it- enjoy

South Carolina is 3-6 and just lost by 26 to Boise State. They have a top 100 RPI because they have played a tough schedule. End of story

They shouldn't even publish RPIs until after every conference tournament is over.

It. Means. Nothing. this early in the season. The only one that matters even in the slightest is the one the committee picks with. Publishing a list this early just creates false impressions.

I see what you're getting at, but I think that RPI on the whole is pretty important at this point.

Individual team RPIs may be fairly meaningless, but RPI at the end of December gives you a good idea of how the conferences stack up against each other before conference only play begins.
