So the husband is pretty much fired as the Starkville Police Chief and now this.

STARKVILLE – Mississippi State University’s police chief has been placed on administrative leave, school officials announced Thursday.

Police Chief Georgia Lindley is off duty but is receiving pay, pending the outcome of a investigation of the city of Starkville. Charges against her are pending, the school said.

“At this time, the duties of chief of the MSU Police Department have been fully vested in MSU Assistant Chief Kenneth Spencer on an interim basis,” said Dr. Bill Kibler, vice president for student affairs. “There is no higher priority at Mississippi State University than the safety of our students and the rest of the university community.”

Rumor is, this is why the husband was fired. He tried to cover up the DUI.

False...she got the DUI at 5 pm this afternoon so this is a totally different situation.

He got fired for covering up her hit and run. She backed into someone in a parking lot a month or 2 ago and left the scene claiming she didn't know that she hit the car.

that She should have gotten this DUI weeks ago. She was driving drunk in downtown Starkville (Near 1st Baptist Church) when she struck a parked car and left the scene of the accident. There was an eye witness to the hit and run, and the witness identified the person to be Georgia Lindley. Starkville police department went to their house with a warrant the next morning to supposedly arrest Georgia. Her husband answered the door and provided the officers with her drivers licences, insurance etc, but would not allow the officers in the house, even with the warrant. He basically pulled rank on his own officers protecting his wife who had supposedly committed this crime. It was a huge conflict of interest, and unethical decision that cost him his job, and now it looks like it will cost hers too.
