Talking to a friend in Kentucky, she said rumor is they are coming after Hubbard. Not sure if there is any truth to it but that is apparently floating around Kentucky.

There are about 15 schools after Hubbard

Kentucky tries to get him every year.

I am probably in the minority, but I'll be ok whenever he does move on. I don't think we will lose more games when he is not on the team. The NIL funds will be used on someone else and I'd be fine with rolling the dice to see if we improve.

Same for me. I will not have any hard feelings towards him if he did. We are really stale right now. We need to change it up.

As long as what we pay him can be passed on to someone else, I agree

I wish them luck. You are not alone in your sentiments.

maybe Hubb finally get to play with some real offensive weapons there.

Don’t get me wrong. I really like Hubbard and his parents that I have enjoyed getting to talk to at games. He has done/given a lot for our program and I am sure he has been paid handsomely for it. But he is defensive liability because of his height in today’s basketball game. A lot of 3pt shooters in today’s game are way taller than him and he can not defend them.

I guess we will see if he meant it when he told Murphy, during the Auburn game, You Don't Leave State!

He will have to slow his shooting down a ton. He can't volume shoot there

He will and he'll help them immensely. And we'll get some shitty player to replace him... and you know what, it's what we deserve.

I doubt he leaves. Doubt anyone will pay him what he makes here.

Kentucky aint scared to pay- their NIL is Top 5 every season.

Hubb needs a PG with some size that can penetrate. Then we need a 3 that's 6'6 and can shoot some as well. We didnt have a 3 this past season or a G with any size. We need Hubb to stay and get the right pieces around him. Him leaving to go be successful somewhere else will just make recruiting that much harder the next 5-7 years for whomever the coach is

Also- Pope has got to hit a HR this offseason or Kentucky is going to fire his ass. They didnt push out Cal only to get worse results

They've been after him for 3 years now so no surprise. This time, they may end up getting him. They're desperate and well, he's maxed out with us. Unless he just wants to hang around to break records, not sure he stays.

I am not sold on Mark Pope being a very good coach. I don’t think going there would be in Hubbs best interest. Now if he went to UF, Bama or Vandy that would probably be a better fit

Vandy or bama could certainly work. Florida likes bigger guards, so he doesn't really fit there. Entering the sect, Hubbard had missed more shots than haugh had attempted. Volume shooting ain't gonna fit there at all

They will not get him and he will not leave. His NIL deal was a multi year deal when he signed it and we got him at a bargain. We re upped it last year to include next year.

We also help him with the camps he puts on as well as some of his Make A Wish stuff.

It kind of stinks. We will have a losing record again next season, but hey, at least our media crew will get to put out plenty of Instagram posts of the records he's breaking.

We have made the NCAA Tourney 2 of his 3 years. Until the roster gets built- we have no idea what next year holds.

This is 100% accurate. With unlimited free agency, an entire roster can flip. We don't know if we are going to sign a roster similar to Gulfport High School's roster, or the Denver Nugget's roster.

I see this differently. He gained the confidence this past season as "the guy" and threw up a lot more shots that the previous years. I don't think he will just settle into a new role if we get a guy or two that can score. Looking at the stats, of the top 50 scorers in NCAA this season, he had the lowest shooting percentage.

Here's another fun fact that doesn't look at Hubbard alone. MSU didn't have a single player in the top 100 in rebounds, or assists, or steals. Just a complete cluster f--- of a team.

And I view it as a case of him having to do what he had to do this season. We had some injuries. We got nothing from the 3 this year. Not alot from the 4 or the 5. Who else was going to score?

If we have guys making shots next year- he will fall back into the 20-22 PPG area he needs to be in.

Yep this was what Hubbard had to do. Any good team needs minimum 3 scorers on the floor and the other two can't be two you can back off of and forget about. Murphy and Nwoko was a loss from last year compared to what we brought in.

I don't think we utilized Achor properly, Ballard was on floor too much. Jones is a glue guy but you can't have him out there with Ballard - that is two no threats on O end.

Its interesting to know how good or bad we will be when Hubbard leaves. To be honest Hubbard has literally been our offense on the perimeter since he has been at State.. yes other guys have helped but they have also be inconsistent. So I wonder if he leaves will we get worse... or maybe potentially better using more of a team aspect instead of a volume guy? I'm still not sold on Jans' offensive schemes though

We would get worse and MARKEDLY worse. Playing with Hubbard is something you can sell portal guys.

exactly. It amazes me that someone thinks it would help. It only would help rebounders.

This is correct... so again, that's why he had to throw up so many shots. He was the only one that could score for goodness sakes.

or the fact that defenses double him which allows other shooters to get shots. I would love to play with Hubb because it means I will get more open looks off rotations. Our problem this past season was that the other guys couldnt make open shots enough

Hopefully Jans recruits offense and teaches defense this year.
