Mild forearm strain per BOC. UCL is "pristine" per BOC.

Very encouraging news. No timeline for return given though.

“Mild” and “pristine” are two very encouraging words. Maybe mild means fewer than 6 weeks.

I would think mild would indicate closer to 3 weeks than 6 for sure. A lot of it is going to be based on how Ryan feels after treatment but those words make me think he is feeling towards the side of good. He'll still have to be ramped back up to avoid inflammation and things like that of course. The next big step will be his first bullpen/lab session to see if he can handle that without pain.

Oak says it’s “highly doubtful” he pitches this weekend. I agree it’s probably 3 weeks. Could be sooner or longer depending on how he responds to treatment.

And let’s be honest, McPherson being out will force innings on other guys. That could pay dividends late in the year. We need to keep developing the pitching roster. Foster, Pitzer, Sweeney, Billingsley, Miller, Webb, Rhodes, Burns, Gleason, etc.

I'm guessing we will start Pitzer because we pitched Miller tonight. Unless BOC is really petty and just wanted to let Miller finish it. Which I respect by the way.

Wait, is there a story I'm missing about Miller and USM?

Miller gave up the tying and winning runs in Hattie and took the L.
