Don't post here often (read here a lot though). Live in far west Ft Worth and haven't been to a game in DNF since graduating in 2000. Have GA seats. Have my youngest here for campus tour (she is my last hope for a child to go to State). Want her to have the best experience possible.
Opinions on 1st or 3rd base berm?
Best place to park?
Anything other recommendations to maximize tonight?
Or any chance anyone has better seats than GA they would part with for tonight? Or a spot in the lounge they would invite us to for a bit?

Should be a good crowd. I personally like the 3rd base berm some really decent people there. Like the others have said if planning sitting on the berms be there when the gates open with chair. Also just walk around the whole stadium and enjoy knowing that you are at the pinnacle of college baseball. It is really a nice ballpark. I know several leftfield loungers that would welcome you if you tell them why you are there for prospective student/daughter.
Edited to say I like parking in the new parking garage which is across the road from the hump and Sanderson center. If get there early enough you might luck out and find a parking spot on the street parallel parking curb side.
Also most important have fun!

We've had good luck parking next to the parking garage that's off of Bailey Howell Drive for free but you prob have to get there somewhat early for that, which you will need to do anyway if you're sitting on the berm. It's the parking lot/road that's between the parking garage and Deavenport Hall. You can always do the paid garage if the free spots are full.
The berm is a nice place to sit, but you definitely need to get there when the gates open to claim a nice spot. Bring lawn chairs.
The food at the Dude is pretty good- the Two Brother's wings and the sausage dogs are as good as you can ask for as far as ballpark food goes.
You may be able to move into some chairbacks in the later part of the game. They don't usually check for tickets in less desirable sections if you see an area that has a lot of open seats, but I wouldn't count on that at the first SEC home weekend.

Find the Vanderbilt Whistler guy. Sit behind him. Have your daughter ring her cowbell the entire time. If she runs him off, she will have a section of friends for life!
But really, enjoy the experience with your daughter! Hail State!
