Man we are in year 1 where we are top 3 in pretty much every poll you look at. We are no where near to criticizing BOC the way Lemon was criticized after some really bad seasons. Coaching blunders happen to the best coaches and mistakes happen to the best teams especially in baseball.

I agree with you about standards and I will be the first to criticize BOC if that time ever comes but I hope it doesn't. I'm sure we can go back to Lemons glory days on here and the criticizing isn't to extreme. The criticizing didn't get heavy until 2023 when it was very deserving.

Midweek and SEC weekends are different animals because we are throwing our best guys. But as far as offense when we get through our third time through the order the advantage goes to us.

This was a good win for MSU tonight.

Most SEC teams would have folded down 7-2. We didn't. We scored 9 runs. I was disappointed that Sweeney and Foster didn't pitch well and Burns allowing home to be stolen was unacceptable. But it was good to see Billingsley pitch better and I really like how Miller is coming along. Ace stepped up obviously and Chone and Reed were clutch as well.

Need Foster, Burns, Webb, and Logar settled down. Players grow in-season, at least 2 will be right by May.

Foster has pitched well out of the bullpen at least. Burns issue is correctable. Webb has been good. Logar hasn't gotten very many opportunities and maybe should get some more to see what he can do. He started at James Madison. I feel like he can give us three innings every Tuesday and be good.

I was actually pulling for olemiss; which may be a first. I was at a gathering last week and a couple of their ?fans? were rattling on and on about how good they were and how they beat State, etc., etc. After some of that, they both turned to me and asked what usm?s coach?s name is. I?m in a text group of neighbors and they text constantly during the games; I?m getting close to explaining to them that this is a long season and it is way too early for all of this.

Lemon was not going to miss anything. He got past the injuries and made 2 Regional finals in a row. But again- he needed to be fired. Nobody objects to this. Just hold the same standard.

When he has horrible complete seasons like Lemonis had for years, then he will be held to those standards. Crying to have him fired over a single game or mistake is bat shit crazy if you ever called yourself any kind of coach much less a baseball coach.

For the first time in my life, me too. Actually I have in the past in situations where a UM win would significantly benefit us in some way. This wasn't necessarily one of those but I was hoping they would take down USM a notch or two.

They are now 3-0 against the SEC. They are good and have the bragging rights right now. I tried pulling for OM last night but caught myself smiling a little when Southern walked it off. I can't pull for OM.. it feels like blasphemy

In the long run Ole Miss losing helps us IMO. I think they get exposed by Texas this weekend and already have by USM and Coastal Carolina.

Yeah. I was about as close to the home plate umpire as one could get without being on the field. And I'm not usually one to tee up umpires as they do a pretty good job on the whole.

But there were a couple of times last night I shared thoughts with him loudly. I had a very good view/angle on the check swing and that call was just plain bad. The other was a strike call on Noah that was obviously high.

So yeah- Lemon went CWS-Covid with likely CWS- CWS champion- the only one in our history- I expect BOC to make the CWS 3 years in a row because Lemon left him in such a good place in addition to our boosters paying major money to do so. Anything less will be a disappointment because Lemon did it. Win a title or you aint Lemon bitch

They have a good team but all 3 of those were in Hattiesburg and 2 of them were by a single run. But hey, I understand it, USM doesn't have a lot to brag about these days.
