Baseball may deliver the goods. But folks aren't too hyped about it because we've been bludgeoned with our own expectations in all sports too many times.

We scored more than 72 points twice in conference play and we gave up 98 and 92 points in those games.

We did not do enough to build a team around Hubbard and we have lost our calling card under Jans which is defense. May be time for a reset because this stretch has been awful.

No idea where he ranks this season, but he was 8th in the sec last season. Seems to be in line with production up until this season

Im glad we've made the tournament 3 times under him but are we supposed to just be satisfied with that? Heck we haven't advanced past the 1st round in any of those 3 appearances. It was a big miss on portal hauls this year but in no way is a 3-peat tournament coach on the hot seat. It isnt even warm, yalls solution to just fire everyone is the reason nothing builds.

I dont think hes qualified. And thats not a knock on him. Few coaches are qualified to evaluate and manage portal recruitment, salary cap, and roster management in this crazy era. We are talking about a guy who was coaching in New Mexico and recruiting jucos just a few years ago.

By the way, 12 million is absurd. I cant accurately assess how we allocated the funds because of the lack of transparency. But I imagine we put a whole lot on one player and a good bit on at least 4 others. We are spreading it too thin and trying to acquire too many players.

If I had 12 million to spend on a 15 player roster, 5 guys would be scholarship only.

Then I put most of my eggs on 3 players. A backcourt guy, a wing, and a frontcourt guy. So around 9 million on 3 elite players. That would leave me 2 million for another guard and a big. And a million spread out on depth.

Depth is incredibly overrated. Give me a great starting 5 and 2 backups and Im making the tournament. Jans it out here trying to play 10-11 guys. Its madness.

No and he needs to get up to date on recruiting. In FB and BB their needs to be a portal GM whose job it is to find the best type of player the coaches want and to handle the contacts. This lets the coach keep his main focus on the court/field.

Think about this, Kansas State signed PJ Haggerty for 2 million + the possibility of 500k in incentives. Hes averaging 23 a game.

If we truly had 12 million, we could have just kept the guys already on the roster + Haggerty.

Hubbard, Haggerty, Kuegel, Murphy, and Nwoko would beat this team by 20.

I like Epps but paring him with Hubbard was a terrible idea. We needed a big guard.
