Want open market

Self interest rules the day. Not what's best for the sport. The ACC allows Miami to keep their entire playoff payday. So obviously Miami wants to reinvest those funds into buying players. And the big budget schools like Ohio State want to spend more than the Miss. State's. It's complete chaos. Absolutely crazy.

If Colleges start paying more than the NFL then they will start a minor league that guarantees that the clock to the big bucks starts at 18. That will get all the best talent and will make the NCAA all Div II level talent.

all this going on with all these things that need correcting and the dumbass college playoff board, led by Mark Keenum, can't even agree on the number of playoff teams for next season. Big Ten, absurdly, wants 24.

I said years ago there should be a 16 team playoff just like the smaller schools have had forever!

I don’t really understand why the Big 10 wants 24 when they are pretty much guaranteed 3 or 4 spots. If anyone wanted that I would think it would be the ACC or Big 12. I just don’t understand why this is so complicated you just expand to 16 and have the top 8 seeds get a home game in round 1 and eliminate the BYES.

If a team has the type of season that gets them ranked in the 20's they should not be a national champion; no matter how many tournaments they win.

Indiana spends more on football than the bottom 1/3 of the SEC and had a 20MM NIL for 2025...people have to stop looking at the name on the jersey because those are gone. It's a new era of college football

Bottom 1/3 is bottom 5ish of the sec. Who is the equivalent? Us, Kentucky, SC, vandy, ark?

You dont have to spend in the B10 the way you do in the SEC. They were legit this year- no doubt. But what would our record be if we played:

Ole Dominion
Indiana St
Kennesaw St
Michigan St
UCLA
Maryland
Penn St
Wisconsin
Purdue

We win at least 8 of those 9. 7 at worst and could def go 9 for 9

I'm not looking at the name on the jersey. I'm listening to their coach who last night lamented the amount spent on his 2025 roster and said it was nowhere near what has been reported.
So what report are you referencing that they spent 20 million on the 2025 roster?

Not for the 2025 roster he did not. He did an interview last night and said he's been involved but plans to be more involved moving forward. So yea, I'm sure Indiana will have whatever money they want for 2026 and beyond.

You left off Illinois, Iowa, Oregon twice, Ohio State, Alabama, and Miami. We would have lost all 7. So of their 16 games, we at best would be 8-8 (probably much worse) while they were 16-0.

They just boat raced Oregon and Alabama and beat Miami on the road in the title game. They would have won the sec.

The whole IU played a weak schedule could've been argued before the playoff era, but they beat Bama by 35 points, boat raced Oregon, beat Miami (who went 3-0 against SEC teams) and beat OSU in the big 10 title game. The portal and NIL era has changed college football to where the SEC is no longer the dominant conference. I agree we might have won 1 or 2 more games with IU's schedule, but we couldn't even beat a bad Florida team that is on the same level as those teams IU played in the Big 10 or Wake Forest. On paper you think we would win 8 of those 9 (not Penn State) but I am sure we would've blown 2 games like we did the UF game so we would've been 6-6.

While it is difficult to tell the exact amount, it has been reported that Cuban has been Indiana’s biggest donor by far over the past few years. Along with the $5 million for a sports media center and $6 million for the school’s rugby team, Cuban was the biggest funder both last season and this season, hoping to land some of the biggest names in the transfer portal.

Correct. He said last night he has been involved but is getting more involved for the 2026 team and going forward.
The largest reported number for Indiana 2025 roster seen is "just under 20 million" from an On3 article, and Cig said last night what was being reported was nowhere close to accurate.
But even if he is lying and it were 19 million, they spent near the bottom of what sec teams (like us) spent and are the best team in America. Talk about an incredible ROI.
