Over Moorhead, Arnett, and Lebby....is painful. That old joker can coach

Well didn't Houstons QB play at A#M? Also how fast is LK on the phone to Simmons Monday.

LK better hope he finds a QB better than Simmons.

Not real fast at all. As stated, Kiffin will go get someone way better than Simmons.

I'm not sure how much mutual interest there was or if Fritz was ever a real candidate for us at any time. Ironically, his offensive coordinator at Houston last year was Kevin Barbay who was a disaster last year as well. So maybe nothing changes too much.

Fritz took the UH job because his daughter and grandkids live there and wanted to be closer to them.

That and the raise from $2.8M to $4.5M.

That is the exact reason. There was some interest on both sides, probably more on ours than his. We just, as a program, were not in a good position in November of 23. I think that is what a lot of people still fail to grasp. I mean NIL was god awful. There is no other way to put it. There were G5 teams that had better NIL structure than us.

I mean Jon Sumrall would have taken our job but he wanted it in his contract that his buyout would have been ZERO to go to Kentucky. And I like Jon. I think he is a good coach but he was not what we needed at that time. We needed someone with an extensive offensive background. Jon would have been great if our offense was not at the level it was at. Hindsight being 20/20 should we have hired Jon? Probably so. But we would have a majority of the fan base ready to hang him by his toenails from the top of the stadium when he brought in Joe Craddock to be his OC.

At UH, he has money. Their current QB starter was a 5 star and ranked #3 at the position. They just signed another 5 star QB ranked #1 in the nation.

Yes- Fritz had no interest in our job

Yes. Houston has more money than us

It's funny how threads go a different direction sometimes. I was simply stating that we could have hired Fritz away from Tulane, and I have zero doubt we could have. Not saying we could hire him away from Houston or want to. But we could have hired Fritz when we hired JoMo or Arnett, but didn't. Wild.

And spare me the "no interest" when he was with Tulane....the raise, plus being in the SEC...he would have come.

The Pro-Lebby crowd has to put down our program, because how else can they make the case that Lebby is actually doing a good job?

Just wait until they're arguing that he should be retained after another losing record in 2026 because "our schedule was too hard and no one else could have won either with our small amount of money."

Ordinarily, I would fully agree on this and I understand your frustration as I scream this from the rooftops about Cig because I know for a fact he would?ve taken our job in Nov 2023, but Fritz was set on Houston to be closer to his family and grandkids plus they have more money than us and at the time a better NIL situation.

He already had the Houston job before the season ended. No- we could not have gotten him.

What does pro lebby mean?
Why would any of our fans not be supportive of lebby?

It sure takes some mental gymnastics to come close to what that actually means.

Was reading today about how SC has now promised Beamer more support staff and admin needed moving forward- upping their budget for that aspect to 10MM. That seems to be the new SEC threshold needed to be met. We were around 6MM in 2025

That sounds about right to give the team a chance for a successful season. 6MM is too low for SEC so hopefully we get up closer to that 10MM to have a legit shot

We're going to be very close, if not at, 10 MM this season in regards to staff.

Seeing how Beamer himself has never been a coordinator, it makes sense as head cheerleader he needs more experienced coaches at all times.
